Re: [JAWS-Users] mathML and jaws
I have read that the latest version of the Duxbury Braille Translator allows you to enter mathematical braille, hten translate it into TeX notation for printing. At the CSUN conference this year, software developers from Pearson demonstrated a Web-based mathematics editor that supports Nemeth code braille. It can be used interactively by both blind and sighted people. It doens't support calculus or university-level mathematics at the moment (or at least it dind't in March - that may have changed by now). For secondary school algebra prior to calculus, however, it should be very suitable. It is designed for and used in high-stakes assessments developed at Pearson. I don't know how well it works with JAWS. If I recall correctly, it was run with NVDA for the demonstration. I would suggest joining the blindmath mailing list, or at least reading their recent archives, as they've had a very long discussion thread on this topic lately. Josh Kennedywrote: > I know with jaws we can read math content on the web and I guess, see it in > nemeth on a braille display. but is there any way we can easily write mathML > and edit equations alongside sighted people and they see our changes in > print and we see theirs in braille? [JAWS-Users] mathML and jaws
hi I know with jaws we can read math content on the web and I guess, see it in nemeth on a braille display. but is there any way we can easily write mathML and edit equations alongside sighted people and they see our changes in print and we see theirs in braille? -- mozilla thunderbird email client For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

I never got a prompt for the kind of install, standard or custom as I have in previous installs and I was never asked for my Jaws owner key. I have never had these issues before when using a disk. I am wondering if I got a corrupted disk. The issue now is what to do next. The computer did shut down and restart so the files are there somewhere. I did get some voice prompts so the speakers are functioning. I may have to contact FS support next week. I don't think that I should insert the disk a second time unless somebody thinks that may do it. Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW 16 Incomplete install
Wayne, Instead of waiting for a replacement disc, you and your wife could download JAWS from the FS website and commence installation from that file. At any rate, I'm pretty sure you don't need to have installed JAWS with a disc the first time. When my hard disc had to be replaced three months ago, I believe I started JAWS from the downloaded file. Are you eligible for JAWS 17, or must you use 16? If locating the download page is a problem, since you can't operate the PC yourself, post again and I or someone will get the link. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of wayne smith Sent: Saturday, August 27, 2016 5:34 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW 16 Incomplete install Hello Mike, There is not a JAWS icon on the desktop. Hi Wayne, It sure sounds like Jaws didn't get installed. Have you tried using Narrator to look around on the computer? Take care. Mike Sent from my iBarstool. [JAWS-Users] Windows 10 virtual desktops
Hello list, Im a heavy user of virtual desktops in Windows 10. One issue Im encountering that while doesnt impact my ability to use the various desktops, is somewhat annoying. When I rotate among the desktops (control+windows key+left/right arrow) Jaws will sometimes land on a window that says desktop unavailable and sometimes not. This is pretty random and I havent been able to figure out a pattern to when it may pop up. Clicking or trying to otherwise interact with the window doesnt do much. Sometimes, I can get the window to go away so that just the applications I have open in those desktops appear, but again, I havent been able to figure out what it is Im doing to even close it. Once I alt+tab out of that window, then itll go away. Its only there the first time I rotate into the desktop. I am using the latest version of JFW, but this issue has been present ever since I can recall using virtual desktops in Windows 10. Has anyone else dealt with this particular issue and perhaps have a fix for it? Thanks, For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
Re: [JAWS-Users] back up image
Under Windows 10, you can run "Backup and Restore" (part of the Control Panel application), then choose the option to create a system image. I haven't done this, but the backup tool is described as having come from Windows 7, so I wouldn't expect Microsoft Edge to be involved in any way. [JAWS-Users] how can I view such things as music information in explorer?
Hi, I don't quite know just how to ask what I want to ask, but now that I'm with windows 10, they seem to do things differently, and I'm wanting to know things like the dates of my files, and the bit rate of the files so I can use switch to bring them down to size as it were, and I used to be able to have information about the file in explorer, but it's not there now, so can you tell me if i can get at least some of these values back, and when I've done so, how do I set up all my folders so that they all are that way?
