Judy,
I tried downloading Kevins link also, to keep on hand. It told me the same
thing, but I tried it a second time and it downloaded. You might want to try
it again when it says that.

Thank you ever so much! I could only either tab or arrow between the combo
box with formats and the premium button. I couldn't do anything else.

Update: I also tried to download, but got a message in my view downloads
list saying this program can't be downloaded.

Thanks for trying, very much appreciated.

Will try keepvid.

Hi again, Kevin,

Thank you so much for your offer! I would like a copy if not too much
trouble.

My favorite recording app has been Total Recorder, but lately there a lot of
crackles and pops in recordings I can't seem to get rid of, and their tech
support is baffled, too.

So I've started recording with audacity. I really love the editing and
converting features of Total Recorder, and it will handle video files, at
least the professional edition does, which I have.

Thanks again for all your help.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Downloading Youtube audio to the PC?

2017-12-23 Thread Kevin

not sure about Aupacity but others on this know of a tutorial
GoldWave I think is simple to use, but system sounds can't be silenced at
least I don't think so.
GoldWave is a fully functional software, but when starting everytime it pops
up the introduction screen. you need to register it to never see that
screen again.

Oh yes, I do have another question. When using Audacity, is there a way to
silence system souds while recording? You can set Total Recorder to do
this, but am not as familiar with Audacity?

Do you think Goldwave is easier to use than Audacity?

Hi, Kevin,

I went to the Jaws programs site to download the youtube to mp3 program, as
I got a virus warning from using the youtube to mp3 site. However, when I
tried to download the program, says that program cannot be downloaded. The
download site, I believe, was videosoft.

I'm going to check for another site, as this virus thing that keeps popping
up is threatening to disable my PC so the network won't get infected. I
don't believe it, of course, but don't like it.

I'm open to ideas, and thanks.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Downloading Youtube audio to the PC?

2017-12-23 Thread Kevin
what I have resolved after experienceing the same thing as you, is to record
the audio using an audio program such as what I have GoldWave or what others
have Aupacity.you need to use the wasapi feature which is the same as
stereo mix, doing this is kinda tricky because you need to disable jaws
speech before recording the audio. using wasapi means you record what your
computer outputs and only that. you won't get any sound you make.
the drawback is that you need to listen to the whole audio, and you must
edit the recorded stuff when you start which would most likely be the jaws
speech when you start recording go to the audio you want and before hitting
enter to start the audio
but if you prefer I can giveyou a copy of free youtube 2 mp3 converter, I
can put the installer on my one drive and give you the link to download.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Downloading Youtube audio to the PC?

2017-12-23 Thread Kevin
that first online youtube downloader works fine, I tried it and got you need
to update your flash player too. I just alt+f4 those pop ups and the site
is still there. what you can do to make sure is alt+tab to check if a pop
up appeared, then when you're sure you can alt+f4 to close those windows.

[JAWS-Users] Jart configuration

2017-12-23 Thread Terry Chaney

I'd like to confirm a couple of understandings about Jart.

#1 it will open and work with docx files?

#2 the command "screenreader mode" must be on the clipboard to make it
work optimally with Jaws?

also if I do get it to work in screenreader mode, do I need to have that
command on the clipboard before I start the program each time, or does
it remember as I would expect.

Additionally, look at your Internet Settings in IE under Tools, Options, go

Ok, then what I said applies. Try playing through Google Chrome if you
can't enable HTML5 on IE11, and you could also make sure you have the
Flash

Plug-in under your Tools Add-on menu in IE 11, although technically,
enabling HTML5 on Youtube should be all that's necessary now, since more
and

more sites are moving away from Flash.

Which browser?

I've had issues with IE in the past when an update occurs where it won't
play Youtube videos.
I resolved this the first time by enabling html5.
The second time, I started playing them in Google Chrome; a future update
to
IE resolved that issue.

As for the inability to click on certain buttons, that is sometimes a
function of the browser. For example, for the past year, Amazon has not
worked well when trying to do product reviews in IE. I've had to use
Chrome
instead.

This is with a Windows 7 Ultimate and IE11.

However, it is not an IE issue; but rather, how Jaws renders the page.
How
do I know? Because I can open the same page in IE with a different
screen-reader, and the whole thing works.

Moral of the Story: I always tell my assistive tech clients to be
prepared
to sometimes use an alternate browser or an alternate screen-reader in
some
instances when you can't accomplish some taks on a specific website.

A two-pronged question.

1. My PC just did an update, and whether this has anything to do
with it or not, when I went on Youtube to play my purchased movies, I
get

the following: Alert, error, cannot play, try again later.

Note that I can play other videos, and I can play my purchases on my
phone,
but can't play the purchases on the PC.

2. In trying to post this problem to the Youtube forum, I find I
cannot click to post, the button just sits there and screen does not
resolve. Here is the link.

If anyone has any ideas, I am open.

Thanks.

Judy

Hi Kevin,
1. Open IE,then alt + T for tools, then O, for internet options.
2. Move to the Content tab, then tab to auto-complete settings, and press
the spacebar.
3. In this dialogue, tab thru the options and use the spacebar to uncheck
or

check your preferences.
4. When finished, tab to the okay button and press spacebar to accept the
changes and close the dialogue, then tab to okay once more to close
Internet options.
You are done!
Note:
The next time you visit a web site and input your log-in information, if
you

are asked if you want to save it,
simply tab to the checkbox that says not to ask you anymore and use the
spacebar to check it.

HTH,
Rick Justice

I used it on our office computers with Windows 7, and I wanted it on my
computer at home before I retired a few months ago. It works great, and I
had Jaws 17 at work.
