[JAWS-Users] Windows Media Player Inquiry

2018-02-02 Thread jyandt.martin
Evening folks.
Using JAWS 2018 and Windows 10 on a Dell laptop, can anyone give me step by
step instructions for burning cds with Windows Media Player? I am attempting to
use an external cd rom drive, and it would not pick up MP3 Ripper. It
recognized the internal drive only. Thanks for any help.

Morning all.
Using Jaws 2018 and Windows 10 on a dell laptop, has anyone ever gotten a
message from “Microsoft” stating something about a virus? The voice on the
message was feminine, and British. And it gave a toll free number to call,
or it will disable my laptop. It said something about sending my
information to an unknown IP address. Unfortunately, mornings for us are
at best hectic and I was not able to determine whether it was credible or
not. I also would like to know of there is a way to get previous
notifications regarding issues such as this. Thanks in advance Jerry For

Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessibility of MalWareBytes

2018-02-02 Thread Scorpio
I can honestly say I have not been able to check the items for quarantine or
for removal once the scan is done, I've been having to get my sighted wife
to do it for me, so this may be a problem if you do not have sighted
assistance around after the scan is done.

Hi Jerry,

MWB is accessible, but how accessible is a matter of opinion! LOL It
requires a lot of tabbing, but with J2018 all the dialogue boxes will be
read correctly. Your best bet is to install it, & play around with it a
little When you open the program you'll hear the following as you tab.

Header My Account Button
Dashboard Tab checked
Scan Tab
Quarantine Tab
Reports Tab
Settings Tab
Tab Quick Tour Button

If you want any of the tabs above selected, press the spacebar on it, &
it'll become checked / selected. For example, if you check, Settings,
you'll have to tab through all the other tabs before you get to the Settings
options. If you wanted, Scans, then you spacebar it, & tab your but off &
you'll get to the options for scanning. Take a look at the program, & then
we'll go from there.
Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

Afternoon all.
I am running JAWS 2018 and Windows 10 on a Dell laptop. After getting help
from the microsoft disability help desk, I was sent a link to a tutorial for
Windows Defender.
One of the recommendations was downloading MalWareBytes, as a supportive
software to Defender.
My question is, how accessible is this program? Is it as accessible as
Defender, which for the most part of my limited knowledge of it, is pretty
accessible.
Thanks.

There are 2 versions free & premium. With the free version you can't
schedule scans, & there are a couple of other things you don't get that you
do get with the pay for version.

[JAWS-Users] Updated guides for Windows 10 fall creators update

2018-02-02 Thread David Bailes
I've updated my guides to the taskbar and File Explorer, and they're
availble here:
http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Taskbar-10-Guide.html
and
http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/File-Explorer-10-Guide.html

These guides contain only minor changes, but the taskbar guide covers the
change in location of Cortana's settings, and the File Explorer guide
includes a description of OneDrive's Files-OnDemand option.
