Accelerator keys are very handy. You can find a list of these keys by
pressing insert-h while viewing any webpage.

Is that a keyboard shortcut to navigate straight to areas that have checkboxes?
I found one on the Woolworths website in accessibility settings, but I had to
keep moving down headings to get to it because I couldn’t remember if there was
a shortcut. Also, if you are filling in a form that is set out like a table, is
there a quick way of getting to the submit button halfway through the table, if
the rest of the questions or fields are not applicable to you? It is so
tiresome having to tab seven or eight times before you reach the button. I
know pressing the letter B takes you to whatever buttons are on the page, but
if you are in the middle of text fields, this can be tricky. Any feedback would
be useful.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Having a song play when an e-mail is opened?

2018-03-14 Thread Sharon S
Hi Judy and all, I will also keep these instructions to try it myself
sometime. I have received emails like this and they can be quite fun. It is
allot better now that Jaws and the music can play at the same time. There
was once a time when I opened one of these messages and my sound card would
only play one thing at a time so I couldn't read the message in the email
once the song started.

Good luck Judy and hope you get it working.

Judy has received all sorts of criticism for this idea. It's a shame she
can't ask a valid question and just get practical suggestions. True, I
wouldn't want to receive musical email messages much of the time, either,
but once in a great while, especially when it came with a friend's fond

Re: [JAWS-Users] Automatic Address insertion in Outlook 2016

2018-03-14 Thread David Whitehead
Ok;

The keystroke ctrl+shift+y=Copy a Folder
So, to add contact to the contacts folder,

1, enter on the message which contains the email address,

2, use the keystroke, ctrl+shift+y=copy A Folder,
You will hear jaws say something like,
Copy item to dialog,

3, press the letter c=contacts press enter,
Within a few seconds you should see the
Contact property page with all the contact information,
You can check this by using the tab key.
If your satisfied, just press alt+s=save.
You will be placed back into the message.
This does work with 2016, 2013, I would assume it would work in 2010 also.
Again, the ctrl+shift+y is a office keystroke.

To add a contact from an email to the Outlook 16 contacts list, place focus on
the contact name/email address. Press the application key, then arrow up to
that option.
If any of this needs clarifying, please post again.

Yes, nobody should criticize her for asking how to do this as it is her
business why she wishes the information.

Judy has received all sorts of criticism for this idea. It's a shame she
can't ask a valid question and just get practical suggestions. True, I
wouldn't want to receive musical email messages much of the time, either,
but once in a great while, especially when it came with a friend's fond
thoughts, I'd be delighted.

I have seen this done, and would like to send a St. Patrick's Day greeting
that way.

I have the tune in an mp3 format.
Is there any way to do this?
Thanks!
Judy

Hi Gary,

What operating system are you running, & what version of Jaws? If you're
running Windows 10 you need a newer OE6 version that requires the purchase
of a key code from the developer.

Hello all,

Has anybody installed the outlook express 6 that's on the programs page
recently? I've tried twice to install it and it fails. Simply won't install.

Hello,

I am using Microsoft 2013 on one computer and 2016 on another. In prior
versions, one could press the Windows key and find "Recent". It does not
seem to be there any longer. Hence, I find myself hunting and guessing about
names and files I have done recently.

Does anyone know any JAWS 17 or 18 commands that will allow me to locate
those files easier as it was in prior versions?

Another thing my girls would do is forget to un-mute the sound card, or
turn

the volume up after they were done with the PC.
This happens a lot at my job. The sighties around there are pretty

I always tell sighted people who want to use the computer that they should
turn off JAWS. It slows down the system and without making changes to web
settings I have no desire to make, makes it difficult for sighted people
to
interact normally with web browsers. However, I guess I understand in
this

case, that you might not feel comfortable with not knowing exactly what
these sighted people are doing on your system.

Andy, I had the same problem with my sighted daughters with turning JAWS
off
when they got on the computer. My fix was simple and to the point.
I told them, if they turn off JAWS, then they can not use the computer.
it worked. They would only use it for schoolwork and nothing else.

Hey all

My girlfriend an di are both blind and her daughter likes to visit sites
she
is not suppose to be on.

Is there a program out there that would be a tattle tell?

A program that would allow for us to go back and retrace her steps?

Something that she wouldn't be able to see because she does go in and
turn
off things. She turns off the voice when she doesn't want her mom to
know

what she is doing.

Looking for something that also blind friendly.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you

Re: [JAWS-Users] Internet navigation questions

2018-03-14 Thread Rick Justice
Hi Michele,
You will need to get out of forms mode to use the shortcuts.
Pressing X, will cycle you thru checkboxes on the page
Pressing B, will cycle you thru buttons.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Internet navigation questions

Hi all. I have a couple of questions pertaining to navigating webpages with
Internet explorer, latest version, on a Windows 10 laptop with the latest
version of Jaws.

Is that a keyboard shortcut to navigate straight to areas that have
checkboxes? I found one on the Woolworths website in accessibility settings,
but I had to keep moving down headings to get to it because I couldn’t
remember if there was a shortcut. Also, if you are filling in a form that is
set out like a table, is there a quick way of getting to the submit button
halfway through the table, if the rest of the questions or fields are not
applicable to you? It is so tiresome having to tab seven or eight times
before you reach the button. I know pressing the letter B takes you to
whatever buttons are on the page, but if you are in the middle of text
fields, this can be tricky. Any feedback would be useful.

[JAWS-Users] Question for anybody who uses Wireready at a reading service

2018-03-14 Thread Charles Adkins

Sent from my iPhoneI am director of broadcast operations at voicecorps reading
service Columbus Ohio. Fortunately or fortunately depending on who you ask, I
am having to use Wireready automation software with latest Jaws and Windows 10
latest build on our automation computer. Any suggestions on how to configure
Jaws to work with wr software and tell Jaws to read what I want and not to talk
so much would be greatly appreciated. I already have Jaws in advance mode and
it still talks way more than I need. Hopefully I'm not talking more than I
need

Thanks,
