2018-05-04 Thread Mike B.
Hi Wayne,

This is a Jaws 18 update. If it were a Jaws 2018 update I would have stated
that. The only way to find out if Jaws 2018 doesn't work for you is to
install it and develop your own opinion. Different people have various
complaints , but their problems may be totally unrelated to how you might
use the Jaws 2018 version. Personally speaking, I don't have any problems
on my Windows 7 or 10 computers with Jaws 2018.
Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

Mike, thanks but I am in a fog. We have JAWS 18 and 2018 and you are talking
about updates to 18. I don't know why they created 2 different JAWS versions
but I keep reading about problems with 2018. Are we better off staying with

2018-05-04 Thread JM Casey
Why not use both, since you have both? You can decide what works better.
Maybe you'll find you use JAWS 2018 for most things but switch to 18 for
certain applications. I have JAWS 18. This was created before JAWS 2018, but
I guess is still receiving (somewhat less frequent) updates. I don't know,
but I suspect that this will be the last one, to conincide with the Windows
10 1803 build.

However, firefox seems a bit sluggish especially when adding bookmarks,
and sometimes I have problems with opening links I will press enter on the

No, but Firefox V 60 should be coming out this month. It's supposed to
work with the latest Jaws. You could in the meantime do what a lot of
others have done and has been recommended by VFO and use the ESR version
to keep up on security updates.
I'm currently running Firefox ESR Version 52.7.4 that I just updated this
morning after I checked for an update.

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and firefox quantum

2018-05-04 Thread JM Casey
I know this add-on is not supposed to work with Quantum at all, but I was
having this issue with links not activating when I had the Webvism add-on
installed. Once I removed this add-on, I no longer had this issue. Maybe
it's not that particualr add-on at fault, but you might still want to try
disabling add-ons in Firefox and see if this makes a difference.

Hi,

As I said in my prior message, there's no more information than the bullet in
the enhancement list for JAWS 2018 April update and the description of the
option in Settings Center. Even in the English help (Spanish one sometimes adds
certain information with a small delay), there is no mention at all about this
new Accessibility Monitor API, and as far as I know there's also no more
related content on the FSDN, technical support bulletings, Freedom Scientific
blog nor the Enhancements in Scripting page.

Best regards,
Fernando Gregoire
