Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 10 beta expired?
You guys who might have had the beta expire, may want to re-install it because of the turning back of the clocks. I think the time switch may have caused the problem with some betas. A strange thing happened this morning that I'm wondering if particular to my computer or if this applies to others as well. I turned my computer on as normal and when done booting up I heard Jaws 10 beta version expired, contact freedom scientific. Following this and on subsequent boots nothing but silence, not even a 40 minute demo mode. This beta version has been working fine as I've been giving them feedback. I did not upgrade to the latest beta version a couple of weeks or so ago but have the one just before it. I know these beta versions expire once they release the final JAWS version and folks receive their CD's in the mail. Have they released the CD yet as I've not received or heard that they have. Fortunately I still have JAWS 9 on my machine so no big deal. However, I'm not looking forward to going to work Monday morning and having the same thing happen down there. Anyone else had this? Re: [JAWS-Users] getting new computer and wondering about requirements
Well for starters make sure you buy a windows 32 bit system because jaws will not work for 64 bit processor machines. My fiance and I had problems with that ever sense she got hers. I really hope that fs get's it together with 64 bit processors at some point. I am running Windows XP and can get a computer with this on it. I am also running Jaws 7.1 or 6.2. I am wondering what amount of Ram I should be looking for and what type of sound card and any other specifics I may need to know about. This may include clock speed and more. Hope this is not off topic but just don't know what will work best with Jaws.
