Re: [JAWS-Users] Google search button is gone!

2009-10-20 Thread Deborah Mason
If you are getting the page asking you to set up your own home page when
google opens, you can select classic and things will go back to the
version you were used to getting.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Google search button is gone!

Hi All, I don't know if this is Jaws related or not, but I'm baffled. For
years, I've had Google as my home page at home and at work. At home, there
is no longer a google search or an i feel lucky button. The only search
option is advanced search which I hardly ever need. At work those
buttons are still there as usual. On my home computer, if I press letter
b, Jaws says there are no buttons on the page. Both computers are running
the latest version of Jaws 10. Home computer has Vista; work has XP. Any
thoughts? Thanks - Shari

Re: [JAWS-Users] compatible recipe for jaws?

2009-02-14 Thread Deborah Mason

If you are looking for a screen reader friendly site with recipes try

www.fooddownunder.com

You can search by cuisine, category, or ingredient.

There are flags from different countries at the top of the page, but the
graphics are labeled.

Warning! After you find a recipe you want to use, you can get hooked on
poking around the site to see what else is there.

I never got a recipe with a number under 20,000. Curiosity got the better
of me so I checked to see what the first and last recipes were; 007 cocktail
and zydeco beans.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Insert-A not allowing me to move to attachment

Just thought I would send the information about opening attachments in
outlook express, because quite frequently people say outlook when they mean
outlook express.

In Outlook 2007, it's been my experience that the insert a will not work.
Also, pressing shift tab one time will highlight the attachment, but
pressing enter on it will not open the attachment. I have to press my
application key and then press enter on, open.

I don't know about outlook, but either of these methods work for opening
 an
 attachment in outlook express.

From an open message, shift tab, then enter.

Insert a also works. You have to be in an open message and be at the
 bottom
 of that message.

 Hey gang,

A wise friend of mine told me that by pressing Insert-A in Outlook that I
can quickly move to the attachment in an email. I've tried this multiple
times, but I've been unable to make this work. I'm using XP, JAWS 8 and
Outlook 2007. Any help and/or information would be beneficial. Thanks
 again!

Re: [JAWS-Users] clicking sound on a link?

2007-09-12 Thread Deborah Mason
I tried the URL you posted and didn't hear any clicking sounds or have any
trouble navigating the web site.

Sometimes I hear a click when a pop up is blocked, but I didn't even hear
that on this site.

Thanks for aiming me at another site with great recipes.

I didn't quite know what to put in the subject line on this one. I am
having trouble with some links on some web pages. When I hit enter, it
 just
makes a clicking sound and doesn't activate the link. It doesn't say on
mouse over, it's just a normal link. How can I fix this?
 thanks,
 Carla

Re: [JAWS-Users] Using numberpad for number input

2007-06-27 Thread Deborah Mason
On the rare occasion I use a calculator, I use the num pad rather than the
top row of numbers because I can enter the numbers more quickly using it.
The only talking calculator I ever owned had the same key configuration as
the num pad.

I still prefer using my noggin, but every now and then I get a case of the
galloping lazies and break down and use the calculator.
