Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessible Travel Directions
The sun can sometimes be of help, depending on the season and time of day. Morning, the sun is in the east, evening, it's in the west. Also, a good compass can be of use. If you got the iPhone, you've got a built-in compass. It will tell you in degrees which way you are facing. 0/360 degrees north, 90 degrees east, 180 degrees south, and 270 degrees west. Split those in half and you get northeast, southeast, southwest, and northwest. For example, 45 degrees is northeast, 135 degrees is southeast, and so on. Hope this helps. Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessible Travel Directions
Wow! Bing.com travel directions are even better than the directions that Google. Maps used to provide. One nice feature of Bing directions is that if you choose transit, it not only tells you which bus or subway stop to get off closest to your destination, it also tells you the name of the next stop so that you know whether you have ridden past the right stop for your destination. Hopefully, MS won't make the same mistake as Google and eventually screw around with Bing.com's travel directions page and make it inaccessible.
