I see what you mean about the HIMS braille driver. In some cases, you must
select a file to continue the installation. I have done so, but JAWS still
doesn't activate the display. I have put it into Terminal mode using a USB
port with Windows 7 64-bit Pro and JAWS 2018. I call HIMS, and they didn't
know anything else to do. My E-mail address is tfairhu...@kc.rr.com. After I
send this message, I'll reboot and see if anything changes. For those on the
list wanting to get rid of the load braille driver message, the checkbox is
located in JAWS basic braille settings when one adds a braille display or
modify its settings.

Hi tom

I've done a number of these and, if you let the hims driver install where it
wants to, Jaws should find it.

When installing the hims driver, there are two or three separate pieces of
software within the driver package. Each one has a Finish Button and it's a
bit confusing because when you press Finish the process starts again. It's
very easy to assume you've made a booboo and people often press Cancel or
close the installer too soon. just let the thing go round a few times till
it goes away.
The other thing to remember is to not connect the U2 till the Hims driver is
finished installing.

Shout if you need further assistance.

All the Best

Has anyone connected one of these as a braille display? I am using Windows 7
64-bit Pro with JAWS 2018. If the HIMS braille driver is needed, where
should it be placed on my hard drive? I get the message that the braille
driver can’t be loaded.
