Re: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional
I contacted FS to update my SMA and I was told that if JAWS was for my personal computer I no longer needed a pro version. If JAWS is to be loaded on a business computer under the ownership of a business and it was for work then I needed to pay more for the pro version. If you own the computer as an individual you do not need the pro version but if the computer belongs to a business then you do. That is what I understood from their sales office. [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional
I would like to know the difference between the standard and professional version of JAWS. I know one is for home use and the other is for school and/or business. What I would like to know is there differences in what JAWS can do or not do between these two versions? Especially since I have Office 2013 Home and Business edition, will the standard still work with this? Anything else will be appreciated. When running a JAWS Home Use Edition license, JAWS will announce in both speech and braille JAWS Home Use Edition at startup. Also, the JAWS application window has been changed. The Title of the JAWS Window now says JAWS Home Use and in the main window area, it will display graphical text that says Noncommercial Use Only. Finally, Home Use Edition is also displayed in the JAWS About dialog box which is accessed from the Help menu. JAWS 16 is designed to recognize all existing Standard licenses and will automatically work as a Home Use Edition now on both Home and Professional machines. All new licenses of JAWS 16 that are shipped will be set up using either the new Home Use Edition license or the traditional Professional license. In the case of Professional Licenses, JAWS 16 will now announce JAWS Professional in speech and braille at startup as well. Finally, we have included the option to purchase and use the JAWS Remote support to the Home Use Edition Licenses. This will allow your license to work in Remote Desktop, Terminal Services, or Citrix connections with other computers. Previously, this option was only available for purchase with JAWS Professional Licenses. -Original Message- From: Melissa Hambleton Sent: Wednesday, December 17, 2014 1:49 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional I would like to know the difference between the standard and professional version of JAWS. Hi I use JAWS 16 with 2013 and I find that with Home version it works okay but as I started with JAWS 14 with this package of office the improvements are a lot better with JAWS 16 and both were home versions. Re: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional
There is no difference between Home and Professional starting with Jaws 16. The only difference is that if you are using it in a commercial application, you need to get the Pro version. The Home version is for individuals. In earlier iterations, the Home or Standard version would not work on Windows Pro or Ultimate versions, and they did not support Citrix etc. - Original Message - From: Melissa Hambleton To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, December 16, 2014 9:49 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional I would like to know the difference between the standard and professional version of JAWS. No, just advise FS when you upgrade so you don't pay extra for the Pro SMA. - Original Message - From: Janie Degenshein To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, December 16, 2014 6:00 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional No should be fine -Original Message- From: John Vernaleken` Sent: Tuesday, December 16, 2014 5:56 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Difference between standard and professional I am now retired and no longer need Professional.
