Re: [JAWS-Users] Direct Download Links For The Latest Jaws 16 Update
Hi Mark, No, just download the correct file for your computer, 32 or 64 bit, & run the executable. Un like the other Mike, I've had problems using the updating method he suggests but, I've never had a problem updating after downloading the correct .EXE file & running it. Take care. I saw the list of "enhancements" posted on JAWS-Users a few days ago. About half of the enhancements were specifically for WIN 10 but the others were fixes for a bunch of stuff including Excel, Chrome and Firefox. I think it's probably worth downloading whether a person is or is not a WIN 10 user. Re: [JAWS-Users] Direct Download Links For The Latest Jaws 16 Update
So do you uninstall jaws before downloading from the fs link? As I understand it, using the download links (the same as downloading from the FS site) downloads a complete, updated version of JAWS (why it takes longer than the patch), while the update you get when you respond to the "update is available" FS notice, is an update patch atop your existing JAWS. If my understanding is indeed true, then doing the entire download using the links or the FS site is preferable to having a potential problem if your patch does not graft properly. I used the patch updates for years and they apparently worked fine, but now I use the links or the FS site to download a fresh system (keeping my setting intact).
