Re: [JAWS-Users] How Do I Use NVDA on Clickable Elements within a Web Page?
I understand, that's why I immediately sent a reply saying please disregard. I sent the question to the wrong list by mistake. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Moderator Sent: Friday, October 21, 2016 4:11 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] How Do I Use NVDA on Clickable Elements within a Web Page? Re: [JAWS-Users] How Do I Use NVDA on Clickable Elements within a Web Page?
in laptop mode i press capslock shift m to route the mouse then capslock left bracket to click it. So in NVDA, I'm navigating the web page using the arrow keys in Browse mode. Then I land on the clickable element which is contained in a table cell. I need the mouse pointer to left click it. Tried pressing [Insert]+[/ on Numpad] then hitting [/ on numpad] to do this but it's not working. Does NVDA have a special way of activating a clickable element on a web page? And no, pressing the [Enter] key doesn't work. Must use the mouse pointer to left click it. The element isn't a conventional link or banner. It's a graphic created by a JAVA script of some type. Am I'm even using the right steps? If I'm able to do this successfully, I'm going to think twice before investing another $140+ on my JAWS SMA when it expires. It's obvious the programmers of NVDA are more in tuned on providing useful functions to users of their screen reader in their updates. Been using JAWS sense version 2.0 (My serial number is only 4 digits) so this definitely isn't an easy decision for me. [JAWS-Users] How Do I Use NVDA on Clickable Elements within a Web Page?
Hello, Ok, I can't believe the free NVDA screen reader is able to read a clickable element on a web page that JAWS wasn't able to see at all? Now my problem is trying to get the NVDA mouse tracking function to Route pointer to the browse cursor? In JAWS I would press [Insert]+[- on numpad] to route JAWS cursor to virtual cursor and left click (That's if JAWS saw the clickable element which it doesn't.) So in NVDA, I'm navigating the web page using the arrow keys in Browse mode.
