I haven't followed this thread before so I apologize if this is something
that's already been suggested. Is your JAWS running in All Graphics? In the
past when I've had a similar problem changing it to labeled graphics solved the
problem.

I'd be happy to share any useful information but I have no idea what else may
be relevant. It is a new machine with Very little on it. I've been using this
version of Jaws since it was released and never experience this issue with it
or the versions I ran before Jaws 11.2. If you can think of any additional
information that might help please ask. Since this begins as soon as Jaws is
loaded I presumed the operating system and Jaws interacting and/or the clock
feature (something I really know nothing about) were doing or not doing
something. If another process is involved I have no idea what it might be or
how it is effecting things.

Sorry, but it has really only ever been set to highlighted, and I did check it
(and everything else I could think of ) before writing. That is not the
problem. I have been using Jaws for many many years now and always (and

2015-04-01 Thread J.Cyr
Good day,
I have a new computer it is running Windows seven and Jaws 11.02. And for some
reason Jaws is announcing the time every minute. It doesn't do this when the
pc cursor is on the desk top but anywhere else and at all other times it does.
I have not encountered this before, how do I turn it off please?

2015-04-01 Thread Trish
wonder if you ran that SFC maybe it fix some problems for you?

I did that in fact, on my laptop and my desktop. On the laptop, I have my start
back which I had posted recently that it was not showing this when booting up.
The desktop wasn't experiencing that problem, but there was something esle
happening, so whatever was, now is working good too since I did that SCF run.
I know yall were talking bout it here recently, it doesn't give you a page to
alt tab to for it's results, you just got to sit there and wait to here it
finish and tell you what it found. Jaws did that whole count down process, mine
sure didn't take no hour, not even anywhere close to that, probably 10 minutes,
it was quick.
Now back to this clock issue...I just thought this might be worth a shot here
to mention. Before, I did this on the laptop, I wasn't hearing the time all the
time as you are, but right at booting up, jaws stated the time and the date,
and then using the jaws key +8/up arrow, it read that all again, but no start
menu

I'm probably on the wrong track here, wouldn't be the first and sure not the
last time,lol

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws Continually Announcing Time

Sorry, but it has really only ever been set to highlighted, and I did check it
(and everything else I could think of ) before writing. That is not the
problem. I have been using Jaws for many many years now and always (and
only) have I had screen echo set to highlight. This is something else, and not
something I've come across before. I can only think the clock is doing
something different. I would really appreciate some help but this truly is not
the problem!

Thanks,
Joy

2015-04-01 Thread J.Cyr
I'd be happy to share any useful information but I have no idea what else may
be relevant. It is a new machine with Very little on it. I've been using this
version of Jaws since it was released and never experience this issue with it
or the versions I ran before Jaws 11.2. If you can think of any additional
information that might help please ask. Since this begins as soon as Jaws is
loaded I presumed the operating system and Jaws interacting and/or the clock
feature (something I really know nothing about) were doing or not doing
something. If another process is involved I have no idea what it might be or
how it is effecting things.

Can you give us any further information that might act as a hint to help the
group solve this problem?

It almost sounds like somebody will have to contact you directly before it
is all said and done so to speak.

Hi Joy,

Have you tried running JAWS in default mode?

If you haven't, you might give it a try.
If you need instructions, let us know.

Reed
