[JAWS-Users] Kindle books

2018-02-17 Thread Terry Chaney
Several months ago Eric D. sent out an announcement concerning Amazon
Kindle books accessibility

with JFW.  There was a property in the book to be checked before
purchase that needed to be there and I simply don't remember. Does
anyone out there know?

I know nothing about Kindle for PC. Aren't your files accessible to you, the
owner of the computer?
Yes, in order for online-convert.com to be able to convert a file, you will
either need to select it by browsing to the file's location on your hard drive,
or you can insert the URL to the file if it is online and not behind a password
wall.

You could try this.
Go to
www.online-convert.com
and try converting the Kindle file to a Microsoft Word or TXT file first,
and from there you should be able to send it over to your braille device to
convert it from text to brf format.
This process hinges on if the online-convert.com conversion engine
recognizes Kindle files, which it should.

BrailleBack is the braille software used by Android devices. I have a Galaxy
S8, and oftentimes I connect it via Bluetooth to my U2 Mini note taker.

[JAWS-Users] Kindle books to braille?

2017-06-18 Thread Judy Jones
Hellow Everyone,

I have heard there are ways of reading Kindle with braille devices. I can
Bluetooth my device to my phone and read braille that way with BrailleBack.
But I am asking if there is a way to turn the Kindle book file into a
braille file?

Thanks.

Judy
