Especially "crazy" since Verizon owns AOL.

Good morning.
I have converted my two accounts.
I was told by Verizon migration support to convert the primary account first
and then do the secondary accounts.

The Verizon email server to aol email server migration went well.

My issues were with my PC Outlook shaking hands with the aol email server.
You have to change the addresses of the incoming and outgoing pop / smtp
servers and port numbers.
The aol migration support will provide them to you.
A few other profile fields have to be changed too.

Note, aol support will only answer migration issues... not technical ones
unless you become an aol premium customer for $5 / month charge.
That's crazy!

I called the Verizon Disabilities Center and complained.
They were silent... nothing is going to happen in my opinion.

Hth,
Ken

Has anyone attempted this switch to AOL when your Verizon account has
sub-e-mail accounts associated with it? I know 2 people who are having a
problem moving the sub-accounts over. I'm trying to find answers before we
make the switch.

I spoke to a Verizon customer service agent who confirmed that Verizon is in
the process of phasing out its email service and migrating customers to AOL or
other providers. Not all regions are affected yet, and Verizon customers will
receive an email notification with instructions on how to proceed when the time
comes for them to switch . Also, there will be a notification on the
customer’s Verizon account page when it comes time to switch. In the meantime,
Verizon customers can learn more about the impending discontinuation of email
service by bisiting the following page:

Ken,

AOL is owned by Verizon, so presumably the disability number would continue to
provide assistance.

2017-04-18 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi.

When I set up email with AOL to keep my Verizon.com email addresses, I went
through the steps to set up each account individually for each email account.
I don't believe there was any reference to main or sub accounts. They were
just separate email accounts.
