Re: [JAWS-Users] NEW COMPUTER, WINDOWS 8.1 MUCH BETTER THAN WINDOWS 7
In redesigning 8.1, Microsoft did something for which it hasn't been exactly famous--it listened to consumers and gave them what they asked for, rather than what Ms thought they should have. I'm hopeful the same philosophy is being applied in 10. Re: [JAWS-Users] NEW COMPUTER, WINDOWS 8.1 MUCH BETTER THAN WINDOWS 7
Thanks. I found out about Windows 10 through my instructor at Morehead here in NC, and since have been looking into it. I am encouraged by what David has said and feel that if 10 is better than that, then, well, that's really good. You are sure to like windows 10 then, as it keeps the same layout as windows 8.1, but brings some of the stuff only about half way back to the old windows 7 way of doing things. The windows x stuff is still there, and there are even more keystrokes if I'm not mistaken than in windows 8.1. Windows explorer scared me for a while because they have implemented a new home folder that windows+e lands you on. This folder is nice, because you can put shortcuts to what ever you want easy access to in there, including your hard drive and what ever else. Neat, but I do prefer the this pc folder, so the folder options dialogue now includes a choice as to which you would like your default windows explorer location to be. I put mine back to this pc and it works just fine. I believe you'll be pleased enough when the time comes.
