Re: [JAWS-Users] Seeking new accessible way to updateAdobeflash as Ninite.com quit doing it.

2013-04-18 Thread Don Cher Bosch
Hey Steve- When I was notified about a Flash update available today, The
Adobe site only mentioned windows and I did not see any reference to
version or bits. So perhaps you're right and there is no 64 bit version
Adobe seems to have fixed the accessibility issue though- . which was a
surprise and a great relief since I was a Ninite user and had been unable to
update Flash without Ninite for some time.

Remember, 32-bit programs can run on 64-bit systems. I'll have to go to my
64-bit system later and see if there is a separate one for that, but I don't
recall seeing one.

In Windows 7 Home Premium control panel, I only see Flash 32 bit; what
about those of us who have 64 bit?

 Gerald,

You can go to control panel, flash player, advanced tab, have the
radio button checked to have Adobe update flash automatically or
 notify you of updates.

You can then try the check for update button.

You will still get that google toolbar option if you do a download.

I'd recommend installing secunia Personal Software Inspector which
 will also

notify you if you have outdated programs.

I posted about this on another list. The best way to update Adobe
Flash now that it is no longer avaiable on Ninite Installer is to
access the site below. Search for the check box for installing
Google Chrome and Google Tool Bar and make sure you uncheck it
before you start the download. It is checked by default. Then
update Adobe Flash using IE and then Firefox, if you use it. You
can verify which version of Adobe Flash is currently installed on
your computer by going to Flash Player on the Control Panel,
accessing the Advanced Tab. and then scrolling down near the bottom
of the page with the JAWS cursor to see the version of Flash
 installed for IE and Firefox.
