Re: [JAWS-Users] Sharing a folder on a Windows 10 system with Windows 7 and/or XP

Hi

Well I stumbled across the solution to accessing the Public documents folder
on a Windows 10 system from Windows 7 and XP.

1. On the Windows 10 system, go to the Control Panel and then to Advanced
sharing settings.
2. Tab to All Networks and press enter.
3. Tab to the radio button that says turn on sharing ... for the Public
folders and check it.
4. Press alt+f4 to close the window.

I vaguely remember running across that setting when I first had a Windows 7
or 81. System.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Sharing a folder on a Windows 10 system with Windows 7

Hi

I'm trying to access the Public Documents folder on a Windows 10 system from
both a Windows 7 and a Windows XP system. I keep getting an error message
saying I do not have access privileges to the file. All computers are in
the same Work Group. On the Windows 10 system, when I go to the Public
Documents folder and open the properties and move to the sharing tab and
Open Advanced sharing it tells me that the folder is shared and has a
permissions rule for Everyone to allow read and write. So there must be
another setting somewhere in Windows 10 that I need to change. Any help
will be really appreciated.
