[JAWS-Users] Thunder bird 15

2012-10-05 Thread David Ferrin
I took this program around the block this week and I am impressed that it would
seem much more user friendly than previous versions. Oh I will admit it is a
little confusing because things are moved around in various locations as
compared to outlook express or outlook 2003 it's all there, and possibly more.

Before I move any of my XP systems to windows 7 it seems like a good idea to
find an email client I could live with long term. I have outlook 2003 which is
on my Windows 7 system and that is still a viable option but I thought it might
be good to explore other avenues for a change.

I'm glad my son steered me toward this program. It's worked for me
mostly, and I'm no rocket scientist to say the least.

2012-10-05 Thread Geovanni Bahena
The only thing I don't like about thunderbird is the way it reads the inbox
list. For example, I haven't found a way to say weather a message is unread
or not furst. I think it reads the subject line first. Anyone know if
there's a way to manage that?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Thunder bird 15

2012-10-05 Thread Don Marang
That is what I used to do as well. It is tricky, but physically changes
the order in which the items are displayed on the screen.

I have more recently found an alternative method in JAWS, which merely
changes the order in which each item is announced. Press the Insert +
F2 keys and hit Enter on the Customize list view. In this JAWS
dialog, you can change the order of items and whether that item should
be spoken. I think JAWS can only handle one customized list per
application, so this is probably applied to all folders in Thunderbird.
