Marilyn, Thanks much. I searched all over and couldn't find anything and
even got my wife to look. Guess it was right in front of me and I missed
it.

You can find the updates in control panel, program and features. Just tab
and you will find updates, check it and they will show in the list of
programs. To remove, just find the one you want and hit enter on it.
Now for bing it is not hard but can be tricky.
Open up the browser and go to tools menu, internet options. It will open up
on general so just tab to search default settings.
Now tab to the list and see if you have any other search options to use.
You can make any of them the default by tabbing to default button. Also
check the prevent programs from suggesting search options on your way to
default.
Now if you like google and its not in the list. Tab to find more search
providers. Then do a search for search providers and you will get the list.
Tab to the one you want and hit enter. When it comes up you want the link
add to Internet explorer. Now some times you have to close the browser for
it to show in the list of search providers.
Now that you have the browser open and are back in the search default
settings. You can remove bing by picking it in the list and then tab to
remove. You can repeat that for any other search providers in the list. So
that only the one you pick is the default and only options.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Unstalling windows updates.

2013-05-11 Thread Hans Pauli Sundstein

Hi Fred.

Goto Windows Update, and activate the link to Installed updates and go
through the list of updates, and should you wish to remove one or more of
them, just do so.

Press teh context menu button and select remove, and press enter.

If you want to change the standard search engine in Internet Explorer, goto
Internet Options, and do this on the General tab.

Hans Pauli.
