[JAWS-Users] Virtualizing Windows

2015-07-05 Thread Steve Boodram

Hi all, need your help please.

I am receiving an error message with JAWS each time it starts. It just won't
start. The problem is that I can't remember how to virtualize the window in
order to copy the error message and post to the list.

Thanks to anyone who offer to help.

[JAWS-Users] Virtualizing windows

2010-06-04 Thread Stumpy
I'm using Jaws 11 latest release and Vista home premium. When I try to
virtualize a window and try to copy it into a text document, it never works.
Does anyone have an idea how to do this?
Here's how I try to do it:
1. I maximize the window.
2. I refresh the window.
3. I virtualize the window by pressing the insert(jaws key), alt and w keys.
4. Control A to select all.
5. Control C to copy.
6. Paste into notepad.

This hasn't worked for me. Any ideas? What am I doing wrong? I'd really
appreciate some help!

Thanks,

Scott

Hello there;

are you sure, your pressing all the keys down?
it sounds like the keystroke isn't properly getting activated.
alt+insert+w?

do you hear jaws say,

virtualizing current window?

Sorry to question this, but are you sure it's alt and not
control with insert with w, as that's what I use in jaws 9 and 10 on xp

Re: [JAWS-Users] Virtualizing windows

2010-06-04 Thread David Griffith
David is correct, in Jaws 11 this keystroke was changed in order to
accommodate other uses . Control insert and W will now bring up a word
list.

Personally I preferred the old keystroke but have got used to pressing alt W
and insert now.

If this is in Windows Explorer try to untruncate columns before virtualizing
the window.
Press Control+NumPad plus to untruncate the columns then virtualize the
window and copy paste into Notepad.
