Oh yes, we were also discussing the Outlook Express tweak and we were
indeed in sync. One of the original question in that many-faceted thread
was to do with whether Outlook Express could be got to work on Windows7.
You will have seen that we were soon asked to change the subject line.

To be clearer: Windows Mail is the Windows Vista mail client. Windows
Live Mail is the windows 7 mail client. Two different clients. I don't
know if the outlook Express tweak will work on Windows7, as it was
designed for windows Vista. and the modern Windows Live Mail is
ribbons
rather than menus.

Hi Sugar,
Though not commonly known, there is a version of Outlook Express
included with Windows 7, just hidden from users so they can purchase
Office products for Outlook, or force people to use Windows Live
Mail.
I have the tweaks, files and instructions uploaded to send space, but
should you take that plunge into Windows 7, you don't have to worry
about upgrading to another mail client, as the instructions are quite
simple and easy to go through.
I should also note that the main difference between Outlook Express
and Windows Mail is the inclusion of a Junk Mail folder, the ability
to deal with Spam messages more easily with the applications key, and
a couple of annoying bugs, though I'm not sure if this is a Windows
issue, or a Jaws issue.
The first bug is that the auto complete feature of Windows Mail is
hit
or miss.
Oh, don't get me wrong, the addresses do auto complete, but Jaws
isn't
reporting the completed address, so you're left wondering if it's
going to the proper address.
The second bug is the fact that when using your arrow keys to go
through the folder list on the left-hand side of the screen, should
you come across a folder containing saved messages in it, Jaws
automatically moves focus to the message list from the folder list.
It doesn't matter whether the messages are unread or not, and you're
never sure how many messages you have that are unread in that folder
or what, as you never get a chance to listen to Jaws read out the
entire folder name and unread messages as it did in Outlook Express.
This is especially the case if you have message rules implemented,
and
you have your messages sorted by subject words and if the messages go
into their own folders.
Other than that, Windows Mail is exactly like Outlook Express, with a
couple of tweaks here and there.
I also don't know if Freedom Scientific has stopped supporting
Windows
mail, but Eric can speak to that should he decide it's warranted.
