[JAWS-Users] an apology to the group

2014-01-17 Thread David Ferrin
The other day I was just trying to head off at the pass a situation that
Rick and I believed was going to escalate into a bash feast at the expense
of Freedom Scientific. I did come off rather gruff and after giving it some
thought figured an email like this was in order.

You got to say that it stopped rather quickly, but I apologies for being so
nasty. There is no excuse, but since there hasn't been a mass amount of
members running for the hills I have to think most of you are accustomed to
such flair ups from time to time.

So again an apology is tendered.

didn't bother me none, i just couldn't figure out why my post wasn't coming

I believe in the rules, it clearly states no bashing of jaws or maybe screen
readers in general, so think it be smart if we keep that in mind.

Everyone has a bad day once in a while David. You guys do a great service to
the community of users on the list. I think everyone on the list, including all
of us at Freedom Scientific, appreciate the time and energy you all contribute
and the rules you maintain for the good of the list.

BTW, there will be another update for JAWS 15 coming early next week. We have
been working on a few final tweaks, and will finish testing over the weekend.
Hope to get it available via the updates option on Monday or Tuesday.

Have a great weekend,
Eric Damery

Don't take it to heart, we all have these days and so I don't agree with

I didn't notice you'd shut down the list.

2014-01-17 Thread Hamit Campos
That's fine Dave. Though I doubt any one was on to bash Jaws. I think the
worry from what I'vve seen here and elsewere too was more of what could
become of Jaws due to this. Would FS take some stand? That's where I saw
this going. People didn't want Jaws to go away in future. It was more about
the survivle of JAWS than smashing FS. It was rather interesting though how
you daired people to take you on. Eppic. If anything though, I think you
could have prevented a general panic jover the future of Jaws more then
anything. That's what I saw could have happened, not that people were going
to put FS down. Other then to perhaps ask what's their response to this.
Which I believe at least is a lagit question.

2014-01-17 Thread Linda Vanderlitz

David:

No apology necessary.

The expectation of many messages on this thread would probably have lead to
bashing and you just headed it off at the pass. Experience undoubtedly made
something like that more than worth any flare up on your part.
