Re: [JAWS-Users] e-mailing someone off list.
I use Outlook 2016 here with Jaws 2018 and Windows 7. I do this with the insert shift R key command. If it is successful, Jaws should say "reply directly to sender", and the sender's address should be in your "to" field. Okay, thanks folks. You know, that is the first time I've ever gotten the reply directly to sender to work? That's why I asked, I didn't think it worked. Hi Justin, If your reply directly / privately to sender keystroke, Insert / Jaws key, Shift, + R, isn't working here is a work around. If you are using Jaws you can get the senders email address doing the following: 1. With the email open, press, Alt + 1 on the number row, to make sure the persons name is in the, From field. 2. If it's there press, Alt + 1, twice quickly. Pressing, Alt + 1 twice quickly brings the focus to the, From, field. 3. Press, Control + A, to select all the text in the, From Field, or, Press the home key to move the cursor to the beginning of the line, press, shift + End key, that's the E N D key, to select the text from the cursor to the end of the line, & copy this to the clipboard. i.e, example below: Mike B. After copying the Name / email address, it does not have to be edited at all. You do not need to remove the less or greater signs. 4. Now paste this into the, To, field of a new email or reply, go to the message body, put in your message, & send as usual. Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers. Sent from my iBarstool. What you do is open the message in your email client, press tab until you hear the persons email. It works in the windows mail app, but you need to tab a lot, it’s the only way I know how to do it!
