[JAWS-Users] folder or file path, windows explorer

2013-07-11 Thread Pablo Morales

Hi all.
I remember that on windows xp, we were able to take the path of a file or
folder, if we setup it on the tools/options settings. We had to press tab,
until we get on a text field where the path was ready to be copy or cut, or
what ever we want. but now with windows 7 I can't find the path, when I got
it activated in the tools/options settings. how can I get the path of a
file or folder with windows explorer for windows 7?

Thanks
Pablo

Hi Pablo,
Make sure you know the name of the document you want, then go to the folder
it's saved in.
Press Alt D to get to the address bar of the folder.
Press end to get to the end of the file path
Hit the backslash key, which is right above the enter key on the right.
Press the down arrow until you hear your document.
Press Control shift home to copy the entire file path. Then you can paste it
where you need to.
Good luck! Smile.
Stephanie

Hi
In Jaws-users.com there is a program called copy patch, which add an option
to copy the file and folder path on their context menu. Just download, place
it in somewhere on your computer then run it to configure. I've used it for
many years, and I enjoy it.

Hi Pablo,
in windows 7, to copy the path of a fle or folder to the clipboard:
1. select it in either the items view or the tree view.
2. press shift + application key to open its extended context menu.
Alternatively you can press shift + f10.
3. Choose copy as path.

David.

This is another way that all could use.
Been on the folder or file that we need to know the path, just press F4, and
we will be on the path of that folder or file.
