Greetings Angel,
A few days ago I responded to your message concerning using internet
radio. I indicated that I was having trouble adjusting the volume after
bringing up a radio station, specificly , when I was working in Microsoft
word. I was having trouble adjusting the volume so that I could heare what I
was typing.
You may have responded to my message but, I had been away for a few
days and when I finally got back to my computer to check my messeages I
had about 250 messages. When I get a message load like this I become over
whelmed and usually I just delete all or most of this huge message pile and
just start all over again . Anyway, I am writing you today to ask you to
respond to my earlier message again. Thanks in advance. Blue skies and green

Once you connect with vtuner, pres the letter c. This will put you in to
the first combo box. Press c again, and you will be shown another combo

This enables you to access all the choices in the combo box. Choose the one

link from vtuner itself, which is the Jaws key, insert f 7, tab once to move

on the rite side of your keyboard, and arrow down to save target as. You
can download this shortcut to the station to wherever you want on your

2009-07-20 Thread angel238
I said in my post I used USB head phones. Jaws is recognized as a second
sound card if such are employed. Thereby making it possible to listen, or
record while doing other things on the computer. The volume on the head
phones can be adjusted independently of the speaker volume. They can be
gotten with a microphone included for about 30 dollars from Radio Shack.
There were those on the list who thought that was a less than desirable
choice. They suggested the volume be adjusted from within the player from
which you chose to listen. This can be done as well. If you are using real
player you can use the arrow keys to adjust the volume, while f 8 lowers
volume and f 9 raises it. If you want the muting of sound altogether this
can be accomplished by using f 7. I don't use win amp. So I don't know the
key strokes for that player. I trust this post has assisted you. I am
happy you found vtuner useful.

2009-07-15 Thread Gerald Levy

If you're listening to MS Word through USB headphones, most of which are of
the circumaural design that surrounds your ears and cuts out background
sound, how can you hear what's coming through the speakers unless you really
crank up the volume? A better solution would be to use a radio program that
has its own dedicated volume settings that can be adjusted independently of
the system volume. Two such radio-playing programs are Klango Player and
Radio Sure, both of which have their own volume settings. This way, you can
work with Word at a normal volume through the speakers and set the music
volume to a comfortable background level through the same speakers without
having to use headphones.

If you're listening to MS Word through USB headphones, most of which are
of the circumaural design that surrounds your ears and cuts out background
sound, how can you hear what's coming through the speakers unless you
really crank up the volume? A better solution would be to use a radio
program that has its own dedicated volume settings that can be adjusted
independently of the system volume. Two such radio-playing programs are
Klango Player and Radio Sure, both of which have their own volume
settings. This way, you can work with Word at a normal volume through the
speakers and set the music volume to a comfortable background level
through the same speakers without having to use headphones.

If you have USB ports on your computer get USB headphones. They can be
purchased reasonably from Radio Shack. Jaws will recognize them as a
second sound card and treat them as such. Jaws will speak through the
head phones. Thereby leaving the speakers to be used for listening to
your favorite radio stations, or for recording. You can then use Ms word
or any other program.

I want to thank you for vtuner.com.
I like it better than shoutcast.com.
It even works well with my little BrailleSense notetaker.
Thanks again.

Once you connect with vtuner, pres the letter c. This will put you in to
the first combo box. Press c again, and you will be shown another combo
box. press enter on whichever combo box you choose. you will be placed
on the first choice for that combo box. Press alt down arrow at the same
time. This enables you to access all the choices in the combo box. Choose
the one you want. and press enter. Press the insert or Jaws key and
enter at the same time twice. You will be shown how many stations were
found. Choose the station you want. Arrow down to play. You can use the
jaws feature to move to that link. This is only an option. As you can
activate the play link from vtuner itself, which is the Jaws key, insert f
7, tab once to move to link. You can press the applications key to the
left of the control key on the rite side of your keyboard, and arrow down
to save target as. You can download this shortcut to the station to
wherever you want on your computer. I hope this helps. There are perhaps
easier ways to do the same thing, but, this is how I do it. You can save
these short cuts and use them in future without going to the site itself.

One good key combination you need is the alt plus down arrow that will open
the list of categories. Then you can use your up and down arrow to choose
what you want then tab to go and enter to get the stations found in that

Try
http://mikesradioworld.org
where you can access internat radio from europe (including the United Kingdom),
the United States and Australia. There is a wealth of jaz, christian and
classical music, cricket and lots of news programs.

If you like to listen to old time radio from far back as the 1930's you can try
http://billsparks.org
and you can listen to Gunsmoke, the Lone Ranger and lots of other stuff.
