Re: [JAWS-Users] printing from the internet.

2015-07-21 Thread wayne smith
The only time I had that issue was when my default printer got changed to
the wrong printer and I had to manually change the printer selection each
time I printed until I got the default changed back. If your client has the
correct printer as the default then this will be of no help.

good afternoon folks.

hopefully someone can help.

I have a client who can't print from the internet,

however, he can print from word, documents,

when he sends the print command to the printer, while on the internet, the
printer doesn't respond.

he wants to print out a few lyrics however, so far this is not possible.

never experienced this before.

Printing direct from web pages can be hit-and-miss, even if IE is already
set up with the printer as default.

Unless the web page has its own Print button, often a simple Ctrl-P will
result in less-than-expected results.

One result is that the headers and footers will only print, or that some
text on the page prints while others will not.

Perhaps what is being seen is graphics, which may not be treated as
printable by the drivers.

One way around this is to select the entire web page with Ctrl+A and then
copy with Ctrl+C. Then open Notepad and paste into the blank area.
Formatting may be messed up, but often this is the most reliable way to
first see what will be printed and then to print.

2015-07-20 Thread John Justice
David,
John here.
This happened to me a while ago. What I had to do was to go into the Print
dialog and define the printer which would be used for that purpose.

1. Press CONTROL+P to activate the Print dialog
2. SHIFT+TAB to the Options menu
3. Press Enter to open that menu
4. Locate the list of printers and highlight the one to be used
5. Tab to Okay and press Enter
6. move to the Print button and press Enter

The printer should begin its run if all has gone well.

He should be able to do this, however, as a work around, he could highlight
the lyrics, copy them, and paste them into a text document or a word
document. Not being able to print from the web could be a browser setting
that is misconfigured or it could have something to do with the website
itself. Has he tried printing from other web pages? I almost always use the
copy and paste method so I can get rid of the formatting sometimes copied
with the information that I want, plus I can then save the information in a
format other than html.
