Re: [JAWS-Users] research it and c net
Has anyone noticed that this Feature built into JAWS has NOT appeared to UPDATE its List of CNET Stories for a couple of days. Just curious. I am using both JAWS 14 JAWS 15 on a Microsoft Windows PC running Windows 7 on a Dell PC. At 09:23 AM 3/24/2014, you wrote: Thank you for your input. I explained to you to keep pressing either H or N to get past that stuff, and I showed you how to use the find for a particular search on a page. When you encounter the item in question here, it's indicating to you, the article is below that area. I told you that you could enter on like Face book and share this article on your Face book if you had an account, or sometimes, it's a page popup to like this article or site on their Face book site. We even went section by section comparing Jaws settings through the Verbose settings. I even had you try turning off the sound Jaws gives when entering edit area, cause sometimes this can get in the way of finding something particularly with the flash movie function. We even made sure of your settings for the refresh page while on a site. I told you about checking if the site had an accessibility link, sometimes if it's available, you can click on it, then sometimes the site is offered as an HTML which is the preferred choice for screen readers, but unfortunately not all sites offer this alternative link for accessing their sites. Re: [JAWS-Users] research it and c net
it's like a brief mini portion of the article. Face Book and Twitter both provide these links for you to share on your wall or tweet it to someone about the article, it's nothing to do with the actual article, it's just telling you, the article starts below this tweetbeam or maybe it wants you to click on the link, which then opens a page on the article along with more stuff. When I do it for Face Book, I'm on the actual page for the article and it's also a Face book page, gives me options to share this page on my Face Book wall, email it to someone, like it or not, but after a lot of alll that, is the actual article you wish to read. I hope I didn't confuse you more here. Just trying to help you out to understand what you are asking. - Original Message - From: LeDon led...@tx.rr.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Monday, March 24, 2014 11:23 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] research it and c net Thank you for your input. Do you LEDon, actually mean CNN? Dave is right that CNet doesn't occur as a source in ResearchIt. Now I'll see if I can find a definition of what a TweetMeme is, somewhere. OK. a TweetMeme is like, or it represents, a trending tweet. It only refers to the social network Twitter, and as we know, these social networks conquer all (if we let them)! You were looking for the CNET link in Research It? It's the Technology news link. If you enter a search string, go down to technology news and hit enter, you will get a list of news stories as links. Hit enter on the story you want. Then arrow down or use a combination of the letter H for headings until you get to the list of Face Book, Tweeter and several other social media links. I did not say that I knew how to find the full stories. I said once the stories are found I knew how to read them. When using research it I go to C net . To find the story I would like to read I find it's headline on the viewer and go to it. Here is the instructions to finding the full article: Full stories begin at the first paragraph below the TweetMeme That tells me that the full story starts below the TweetMeme. What is a TweetMeme? That is the question. Once I understand that, I think that I should have no trouble finding and reading the full article. Thank you for your help.
