Re: [JAWS-Users] research it and c net

2014-03-29 Thread Robin
Has anyone noticed that this Feature built into JAWS has NOT appeared
to UPDATE its List of CNET Stories for a couple of days. Just
curious. I am using both JAWS 14 JAWS 15 on a Microsoft Windows PC
running Windows 7 on a Dell PC.

At 09:23 AM 3/24/2014, you wrote:

Thank you for your input. I did not say that I knew how to find the full
stories. I said once the stories are found I knew how to read them. When
using research it I go to C net . To find the story I would like to read I
find it's headline on the viewer and go to it.

Here is the instructions to finding the full article:

Full stories begin at the first paragraph below the TweetMeme

That tells me that the full story starts below the TweetMeme. What is a
TweetMeme? That is the question. Once I understand that, I think that I
should have no trouble finding and reading the full article. Thank you for
your help. LeDon.-Original Message-

A guesstimate here. Once you get to the article, press the letter h

Heading. JAWS will say, heading level 11, or whatever the heading
 level of

LeDon,

When I spoke to you on the phone, and showed you how to find those articles
the other day, I pointed out to you the Face book, the Twitter, and the
Google ads listed now on most web pages.
I explained to you to keep pressing either H or N to get past that stuff,
and I showed you how to use the find for a particular search on a page.

When you encounter the item in question here, it's indicating to you, the
article is below that area. I told you that you could enter on like Face
book and share this article on your Face book if you had an account, or
sometimes, it's a page popup to like this article or site on their Face book
site.
We even went section by section comparing Jaws settings through the Verbose
settings. I even had you try turning off the sound Jaws gives when entering
edit area, cause sometimes this can get in the way of finding something
particularly with the flash movie function.
We even made sure of your settings for the refresh page while on a site. I
told you about checking if the site had an accessibility link, sometimes if
it's available, you can click on it, then sometimes the site is offered as
an HTML which is the preferred choice for screen readers, but unfortunately
not all sites offer this alternative link for accessing their sites.

We were on the site: http://www.huffingtonpost.com

Re: [JAWS-Users] research it and c net

2014-03-24 Thread Trish
it's like a brief mini portion of the article. Face Book and Twitter both
provide these links for you to share on your wall or tweet it to someone
about the article, it's nothing to do with the actual article, it's just
telling you, the article starts below this tweetbeam or maybe it wants you
to click on the link, which then opens a page on the article along with more
stuff.
When I do it for Face Book, I'm on the actual page for the article and it's
also a Face book page, gives me options to share this page on my Face Book
wall, email it to someone, like it or not, but after a lot of alll that, is
the actual article you wish to read. I hope I didn't confuse you more here.
Just trying to help you out to understand what you are asking.

Could you please give a specific example of an article, that you are having

A guesstimate here. Once you get to the article, press the letter h
for Heading. JAWS will say, heading level 11, or whatever the
heading level of that heading is. Now go down a bit, past references
to sharing and Twitter and GoogleAd, and then the main article will
begin. Or, if feeling a bit adventurous, press the letter p to
highlight the next paragraph at some point during the preceding

OK. a TweetMeme is like, or it represents, a trending tweet. It only

You were looking for the CNET link in Research It? It's the Technology news
link.

If you enter a search string, go down to technology news and hit enter, you
will get a list of news stories as links.

Hit enter on the story you want. Then arrow down or use a combination of the
letter H for headings until you get to the list of Face Book, Tweeter and
several other social media links. Continue to arrow down and the article
appears in full right below those links.

You were looking for the CNET link in Research It? It's the Technology news
link.

If you enter a search string, go down to technology news and hit enter, you
will get a list of news stories as links.

Hit enter on the story you want. Then arrow down or use a combination of
the letter H for headings until you get to the list of Face Book, Tweeter
and several other social media links. Continue to arrow down and the
article appears in full right below those links.

Heading. JAWS will say, heading level 11, or whatever the heading level of

Subject: [JAWS-Users] research it and c net

Can someone help me? I want to use research it to get headlines on C
 net.
When I go to the research it viewer on c net I get the following
 message

Full stories begin at the first paragraph below the TweetMeme frame
 under
 the first level 1 heading.

Now can someone tell me what this means? And how do I find the story?
 Thanks, LeDon.
