Hi Jim,

If you want to keep JAWS running but just go silent, then you do one of
those layered keystrokes.  In this case, that is insert + space bar, release
the keys, you will hear a beep, then press s; JAWS will say "sleep on".
Repeat the above steps and JAWS will say "sleep off".  Remember when you
kill the speech, you will not get any JAWS feedback, but JAWS is still
running, and may interfere with the other operations you are performing.

If you simply want to fully exit JAWS, then you can do that by insert + F4.
I say insert, since that is my pattern.  You can also describe it as the
JAWS key.

Personally, I prefer the first approach if what I want to do is just kill
the speech, and that command responds quickly, unlike the delay if you
unload and restart JAWS.
