Hi, Try either MSE or AVG both are free. Haven't used windows 8 so not sure, but I think MSE is built in to w8. HTH. Hello, Yes a version of MSE is built into Windows 8. It is called Windows Defender. It looks the same and functions the same as MSE did in Windows 7. I've tried Avg, Avast, and MSE. I'd go with MSE. I had AVG on the computer for a while and it caused my system to run extremely slow, especially when going through emails. May I second the recommendation for MSE? I used AVG for years but this one was better as it caught several problems that AVG didn't. Lenny, try microsoft Security Essentials, free from the ms site. It runs in the background and updates itself. You can manipulate it with left arrow.
