Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws training

I am looking for someone in Dallas who has a basic knowledge of jaws to help
a friend of mine learn Jaws. She has trouble getting out of the home and
would like someone to come to her home and spend an hour once a week to
teach her the basics of using jaws. All she wants to do is use jaws to read
some things on the net and use her email. She is willing to pay fifty
dollars an hour for these weekly lessons. So if you know of anyone in the
Dallas area who knows a little jaws and would like to pick up a little extra
money, then please have them email me. Thank you.

I've been listening to some various JAWS training files with
the new FS Daisy Player. This is a nice feature. One thing
I'm perplexed about is when I open my training folder there
are 29 topics listed. Some are followed by an asterisk which
according to the FS website indicates the file needs to be
downloaded and/or installed. I installed what was included
on the DVD and have downloaded all updates available.
However, there are still a # training files with the
asterisk following the name. When I click on the file it
tells me to click on updates and download it. When I do this
I'm given the message I have all current downloads. Are
others having the same issue?

I was hoping to find a training file on it as opposed to the keystrokes. I
am having a problem now when I go to my desktop and tab to launch internet

Hi Linda,

Here are the steps you would take to get to Jaws keystrokes for cursors
mouse simulations.
1. Go to Jaws options, Jaws/insert key plus j, if you run Jaws out of the
system tray.
2. Press h for help.
3. Press j for Jaws help topics.
4. Arrow down until you get to the title that says Keystrokes, it will be in

level 0.
5. Press right arrow.
6. Arrow down to Jaws Keystrokes and press right arrow.
7. Arrow down To Jaws keystrokes for cursors and mouse simulation and press
enter.
Then you press the f6 key to begin reading about this topic and when you are

done, alt f4 to close .
The easiest way to explain is arrow up and down, find a topic and right
arrow to expand and when you find your selected topic press enter to open
and the f6 key to start reading. I certainly hope I haven't confused the
heck out of you. It does take a little getting used to navigating,
selecting, opening, and reading the different topics. I hope this has
helped you. Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws training books

2008-08-14 Thread Mike Barbara

I hope this has
helped you. Take care.
Mike
