 Dave Smith:
May God Bless America and Java.
That is a very humanistic thing that you wish here, but you make a small
typo.
As a friend of Java you know that Java is in Indonesia and Indonesia is the
country with the most Muslims all over the word.
So you should better write God Bless America and Ala take care of Java.
Or better, based on OO more abstract : A higher power should take care on
each human.

May the bit's bust the internet to bring more education to this world.

[JBoss-dev] [ANN] JBoss JMX View Gui Betta

2003-01-25 Thread Stefan Groschupf
Dear Friends,
I'm sorry to be so slow, but the normal JBoss development speed is nothing
for hobby coder. ;-)

Anyway a betta version of the JBoss JMX View Gui Plugin for Eclipse is
released just in this minute.
This eclipse plugin allow you to browse a unfiltered JBoss JMX tree in a
eclipse view.

Since this version, you can change MBean attributes.
So far this plugin support:
+String
+int
+long
+boolean
+ObjectName

Operation invocation with this primitive datatypes is planed for the next
release.
Furthermore a graph for monitoring int and long values is planed.
See release notes at:

AW: [JBoss-dev] Jboss JMX View Attributes

2003-01-13 Thread Stefan Groschupf
Title: [JBoss-dev] Jboss JMX View Attributes

Hi Matt,

Thanks
for your replay.

 Could you please clarify?
Sure.
What is an eclipse property sheet?
take a look on the screenshoot I took for you:

http://jbossadmingui.sourceforge.net/

What is a primitive in this gui?
What is an over scaled complex object?

My problem is I want mbean attributes editable on my jmx gui. So far I test
mc4j it can not edit mbean attributes.
For integer, floats and strings I can use a normal text field. For Boolean
values I can use a popup with True or False.
What kind input type editor then a text field or a popup I can provide for a
object?

May be we can come together with the xml object serialisation? I can write the
object to a xml file and open the file in a editor.
When the user save the file I can instantiate the object from the xml and
change the attribute object.

What you think about that, or has anyone a other idea how to handle such
things?

Thanks for your input!
Stefan

[JBoss-dev] Jboss JMX View Attributes

2003-01-11 Thread Stefan Groschupf

Hi jboss friends,

please vote:

based on the jmx specification a JMX Mbeant attribute can be each object.

I want to implement the Attribute editing in the jboss jmx gui next days.
You think it make sence to edit the attributes as

a.) Primitive in the eclipse property sheet view.
b.) with a may be over scaled complex object instance wizard.

Thanks for your input.

[JBoss-dev] [ANN] JMX ECIPSE VIEWER Preview Release

2003-01-02 Thread Stefan Groschupf
Hello JBoss-Friends,
I'm to late, I'm every time so much to late. I'm very sorry about that! ;(

I suggest Marcf in Malorca to write a JMX Gui for JBoss. A fucking
commercial job waste really all my time and nerves, so I need a half year to
start with this job. Now I spend my holydays, to make the JBoss community a
small Christmas gift, but I'm again to late. ;(

Anyways.

I want to announce a *very early* (since that should not be a Easter egg)
preview release of my JBoss JMX Gui.
So far it is only a JMX Browser as eclipse plugin, but the first final
version will get Attribute changing and Operation invoking as well.
More, the final version will get a graph to monitor for integer attributes,
a integration in Hans's JBoss-IDE and a small documentation. ;)

I plan to make a jsr 77 gui based on this starting point, so I had contact
Sascha the days before Christmas.

I would be very happy, if someone can find time - to take a short test drive
and give me a feedback about more feature and bugs.

So far the project is in a temporary sf project, it can be grow there or
since the IDE comes home as well, it can join all the other sexy JBoss code
in the JBoss cvs after I release the final version 1.

*Guys: merry Christmas and a happy new year to all friends of JBoss*

http://sourceforge.net/projects/jbossadmingui/

Cheers
Stefan

P.S. All the JMX belong to us?! ;-)

AW: [JBoss-dev] InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(); in RMIConnectorImpl

2002-12-16 Thread Stefan Groschupf
You just have to add the appropriate JAR file from the /client directory
to you classpath that contains org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory
which is left to the reader.

Andy,

Of curse I do that.
I use this inside a other framework, so it looks like I run in to trouble
with the framework's classloaders.
Could that be that RMIConnectorImpl use a other classloader then the class
that invoke the RMIConnectorImpl?

[JBoss-dev] InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(); in RMIConnectorImpl

2002-12-15 Thread Stefan Groschupf
Hi guys,
I run in a problem with RMIConnectorImpl in the jmx/connector/rmi package.
When I use the RMIConnetor in project I get a exception:

javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Cannot instantiate class:
org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory. Root exception is
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory
That happens at line 578:
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();

When I replace this lines with:
NamingContextFactory f = new NamingContextFactory();
Context ctx = f.getInitialContext(System.getProperties());

Thank it looks like it working fine for me.

Can somebody give me a hint, what I can do, instead create a custom
jmx-connector package?
Something like assign the RMIConnectorImpl my own Context?

Thanks
Stefan

For these memory sized phones - I would recommend placing a

Thats what I want to do. That's way I say I only want to port some jmx
stuff.
eg. RMI Remote Proxy server.
I don't need transaction or jaas so far. ;-)

[JBoss-dev] Jboss j2me jmx?!

Hi guys,

Christoph Ebro told me in the jmx forum mailing list that sun has a CLDC
j2me prototype of jmx.
Would that be interesting for other here to port the jboss jmx to j2me? I
cant do this, since I'm to poor in knowledge about that. But I see the need
since then jboss can run on mobile and embedded devices.

So far I know 2 guys wants run jboss on embedded devices.
Lennart and I hear from Holger Baxmann that he work in a releated area.
