However now it says: save-excursion: Buffer is read-only: #buffer *check style* Hi Christian, This is the result of another recent change to the CVS (i.e., development) version of compilation mode in Emacs that I am not sure how to fix. As a rule, I prefer not to try to change the JDEE to track changes to development versions of Emacs. I prefer to wait wait until the changes are are officially released. So, unless you are willing and able to change the JDEE yourself (and, ideally, provide the fixes to me so I can incorporate them into the JDEE sources), I recommend that you use the latest production version of Emacs as I do. Cheers, sharif I would suggest you to look in the article: http://wttools.sourceforge.net/emacs-stuff/emacsandjdee.html There are detailed instruction about requirements, installation and configuration of emacs and jdee. It points also to installation script which can help you getting and installing jdee with all required libraries. Well, if you find something in this article not accurate or incorrect or you think there should be more detailed info about something just let me know. I will improve it. _Long_ pause after each new directory is noticed. . .
Just upgraded both jde and ecb (can't tell which is the problem, sorry) to latest versions (ecb 2.30.1 and jcb 2.3.4) Whenever I read or save a .java file to a particular package directory for the first time in a given session, xemacs goes away for a long (several minutes) time. It's not responsive to Ctrl-G during this time. Not sure this is new, but it seems worse. . . Any clues? ht -- Henry S.
