 imho sounds ok.
But not very like “Re-active” for other plugin names.

The plug-in provides parameter types that can be updated based on other

What do you all think about naming the plugin 'Active Choices Plugin' . The
plugin would then add 3 new parameter types:
Active Choices [aka Uno-Choice Dynamic Choice]
Re-Active Choices [aka Uno-Choice Cascade Dynamic]
Re-Active References [aka Uno-Choice Dynamic Reference]
The 'Re-active' prefix perhaps would fit well with the main function of
these parameter which is to actively react to changes in other submission
 form UI parameters.

There is already 'Dynamic Extended Choice' and 'Dynamic Parameter'. At least
with the 'Uno' it has a less generic name and you're not going to confuse it
with another plugin all the time.

Request for new Jenkins mark usage

2015-04-28 Thread Kohsuke Kawaguchi
I put this up for the agenda for the project meeting but forgot to send
this into the dev list in a timely manner. In the spirit of better late
than never, here it goes.

I'm here to ask for the blessing of the community for CloudBees to use the
following name:

   - CloudBees Jenkins Platform

This new name refers to the assembly of everything we do --- the mix of
CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise and CloudBees Jenkins Operations Center
(which includes CloudBees Jenkins Analytics.) We wanted a noun to refer
to the whole thing (in addition to the names that refer to pieces), so that
we can emphasize the one-ness of the things.

The last round of the request, which approved CloudBees Jenkins
Enterprise, CloudBees Jenkins Operations Center, and CloudBees Jenkins
Analytics can be seen here
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/jenkinsci-dev/rzNetnrhPRI/7rRfyshG9bEJ,
and the resolution of it can be seen here
http://meetings.jenkins-ci.org/jenkins/2014/jenkins.2014-11-26-19.13.html.
Probably the most important part is that the conditions of the approval,
which is captured here
https://gist.github.com/kohsuke/573cb5620fcc25c9e5c0/4adb656ca15cac5707ee8fa1e4dabb56855e31c3
---
the most important part of it is that the due credit be given to the
community that this is an independent effort, and our stuff is a derived
work. I've written this page https://www.cloudbees.com/jenkins/about in
the company website, and this page is referenced from various materials
when we talk about CJE/CJOC/CJA/etc. I'd like to think we kept those
conditions faithfully.

I think the proposed new name fits the same naming convention, and the
situation and the considerations led to the approval of the request hasn't
really changed. So I hope I can get the new name approved.

 Hi!

I have developed a Jenkins Ansible plugin which provides these 2 build

 - invoke an Ansible ad-hoc command
 - invoke an Ansible playbook

Is it possible to fork my repository into the Jenkinsci organisation?

Of course, any comment or feature request are welcome.

As I am looking at it, this is caused by JENKINS-26583[1] - envinject
captures variable value early and do not overwrite it. The reason this
manifests when tests are run from Jenkins is the WORKSPACE variables is
set during build but it likely is not on your development box. I have just
reproduced the failure locally running `WORKSPACE=XXX mvn clean package
-Dtest=EnvInjectBuildWrapperTest#testPropertiesContentCustomWorkspace`.

I gave up[2] half way trying to untangle countless variable contribution
sources in the plugin.

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException when using groovy in place of jelly

2015-04-28 Thread Jason Swager
Quick background: I'm trying to fork the email-ext plugin. Not to make
another email notification plugin, to make notifications to a different
form of collaboration service. I figured email-ext would be the best place
to start, with all its features and such. Things were going well, until...

To the system config.groovy, I added a validation button to test the system
wide settings. The groovy calls into the plugin to execute validation, the
Java validation code creates a class from a JAR that I added via the proper
Maven dependencies. But I get a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
com.mystuff.MyClass

Is there someplace I'm supposed to specify my additional JARs, beyond the
pom.xml file?

Any help greatly appreciated,
Jason

Great; now can you somehow get
https://registry.hub.docker.com/_/jenkins/ to link here so people can

Thanks, but https://registry.hub.docker.com/_/jenkins/ only refers to
the (old) GH repo in passing, in a link to the issue tracker, whereas
I think this should be much more prominent (and of course point to the
@jenkinsci location). Is that content taken automatically from our
 README.md?

Re: Jenkins Chat Room Plugin

2015-04-28 Thread Baptiste Mathus
+1 to just make those plugins invisible until they fix those things.
From my experience, the soft behaviour just does not work. Plugins
developers will only fix their plugin if it prevents them from being
publicly visible/usable.

And users will still /suffer/ from this. The requirement we're talking is
not much IMO.

Or, maybe we could just require having some file inside the repository
itself?

2015-04-28 20:36 GMT+02:00 Oleg Nenashev o.v.nenas...@gmail.com:

I would alter the UC's behavior in order to consider plugins as deprecated
if there's no Wiki pages for them (probably with an extra whitelist based
in jenkins-infra) with a minimal standardised set of sections (extra macros
 to poll poms?).
