Re: Plugin Hosting Requests

2021-04-02 Thread Oleg Nenashev
Thanks a lot for all your contributions Alex!

Last year we have started the Hosting Team
 in Jenkins, but
unfortunately it did not fly. At least we have several contributors with
permissions and up-to-date guidelines for the hosting process. There was
also a significant improvement in the hosting process automation, thanks to
Alex and Tim.

I used to maintain the hosting process several years ago, and I will be
able to help with processing hosting requests. My time is also limited, and
it would be great to have more contributors involved. I will be happy to
provide mentorship to those who are interested.

Best regards,
Oleg Nenashev

Re: collabnet plugin maintainer update

2021-04-02 Thread Oleg Nenashev
Hello John,

I have granted Arun the GitHub permissions.
For granting the release permissions, a Jenkins account is needed (e.g. it
is used to log into Jira).
Once this account is created, please submit a pull request
to
https://github.com/jenkins-infra/repository-permissions-updater/blob/master/permissions/plugin-collabnet.yml

Re: Proposal: Changing the Contributor License Agreement Process

2021-04-02 Thread Oleg Nenashev
Hi all,

Quick progress update:

   - I have reached out to the Linux Foundation legal to clarify the CLA
requirements. At the moment there is no strict guidelines how projects
should use CLA/DCO, and there are projects using neither of them. Apart
from the potential legal risks (e.g. MIT License does not cover patent
grant listed in our CLA for the submitted code), the Jenkins community can
   proceed as is.
   - I plan to setup the EasyCLA PoC so that the current contributors could
try it out and see whether the process is convenient enough. Then we can
discuss changes in the CLA policy.
   - I have submitted an application form to create a Jenkins account on
Easy CLA. Once it is created, I will share the permissions with the Jenkins
   governance board members

For your information, there will be also a webinar about EasyCLA on April
8th:
https://linuxfoundation.org/webinars/lfx-easycla-streamline-your-development-workflow/

. It could be a good venue to ask any questions or to share our feedback.

Best regards,
Oleg Nenashev

Hi Aditya,

I'll tag you on some of the upcoming issues so you can see the process. We
use the irc bot to do some initial checking on the repository and Jira
