The performance is the same on windows as using the p4 plugin quick clean + restore changed / deleted. The odd thing I am seeing is that running the command locally runs about 10 times faster. This is backed up by the performance monitor having ~10x the hard drive read speed. I do not know what would be the cause of this. I may need to create a new ticket against a different category. This should remove the system-wide exception, although all configurable items will revert to default values. I've tested with 1.596.2 and 1.613, and both cases were able to write the configuration properly. After loading build data in a debugger, I can see that Actionable.actions does not only contain Action, but also Integer and String objects. Content of CapturedEnvironmentAction instance in build.xml file is appearing in Actionable.actions map, which should definitively not happen. I guess XStream is failing while parsing reference tag and continue to parse content of CapturedEnvironmentAction as if it was owned by the upper actions tag. The main change that needs to be viewed is a new function silentlyForceDelete. This deletes the supplied workspace and ignores any FileNotFoundExceptions. All other changes in ClientHelper.java was general refactoring to improve readability. There was an extra commit that fixes some deprecation warnings (this wasn't intended to go in the pull request, but should be safe to pull in). Just let me know if you need any more details. VSphere throws: A specified parameter was not correct. spec.snapshot. I believe linked-clones require a snapshot to exist, and so deployVM will always fail when linkedClone is set to true, becuase useSnapshot is false, and the snapshot wont be set: https://github.com/jenkinsci/vsphere-cloud-plugin/blob/master/src/main/java/org/jenkinsci/plugins/vsphere/tools/VSphere.java#L137 1) The Linked-Clone option should be removed so that user cannot set this to true for deploy build steps. 2) An upgrade case should be added so that users relying on this functionality in older versions do not need to reconfigure their Jenkins jobs to use the clone step. 3) useLinkedClones=true and useSnapshot=false should be handled properly Some of our servers are not updating this plugin for this reason.

I configured the job with fairly long name in order to follow conventions and recognize the job in our environment. Resolution : I renamed the job to less than 20 Characters and build executed Successfully without any issue. Conclusion : We need to be careful while deciding the name for the jobs on Jenkins. It looks like if you exceed certain limit for the job name it will tend to fail. I am curious to know the limit Character for the job name in Jenkins if anyone knows.
