[JIRA] [core] (JENKINS-30431) Space in job name causes a spurious message from Maven
Title: Message Title Daniel Beck commented on JENKINS-30431 Re: Space in job name causes a spurious message from Maven maybe it would be a good a idea to warn the user if he chooses jobs with a space "We recommend that you don't use spaces in job names because your crappy build tools probably cannot handle something basic like spaces in paths."? Really? Title: Message Title Christopher Simons edited a comment on JENKINS-30431 Re: Space in job name causes a spurious message from Maven Could not reproduce. I ran a build under job name "bnt temp", both with and without the underlying project's directory name containing a space, and this warning did not appear in the job's console output (my HEAD is 5b4b66d8bcc4c3effae9329236edbfac2bccdd84 in branch 'master' ). This sounds like a Maven/POM issue. Title: Message Title Etienne Jouvin commented on JENKINS-30431 Re: Space in job name causes a spurious message from Maven Hye. Thanks for the response. Ok,so works as design. I will change the project name and display name as mentionned. I must admit thant I was surprise to see main maven step working fine and see the warning on the second step. But if this "trick" works, I will just make sure to never put a space in the project name (which give me some errors in special unti test also) Add Comment This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.4.2#64017-sha1:e244265) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Jenkins Issues" group. [JIRA] [core] (JENKINS-30431) Space in job name causes a spurious message from Maven
Title: Message Title Daniel Beck resolved as Not A Defect The workspace path contains the job name, many tools cannot handle spaces or other non-(printable ASCII) characters. The solution is to use a job name without spaces, and define a nicer display name in Advanced Project Options (usually what you want to do), or define a custom workspace (not usually what you want). Title: Message Title Victor Noël commented on JENKINS-30431 Re: Space in job name causes a spurious message from Maven Yep, just tried with maven 3.2.5 and the message is not present…not sure what it means. Also, the usual -B at the beginning of the mvn parameters is not present, contrary to the main maven goal for the build.
