Bakkiaraj Murugesan - Go to Manage Jenkins -> Configure System and search for the Coverity Static Analysis location parameter. Whatever is in that field must exist on your Jenkins master machine or it will fail immediately.
For example, we have this set to /u00/coverity-agent. Since your Jenkins build master and all linux build slaves are the same distro and cloned from the same template, we use the same location on all Linux machines.
I did hit a snag. when it came to our Windows build agents, which we have a few (VS, .NET apps, etc). I could not get those to work at all, since for them there is no such thing as '/u00/coverity-agent', it's on "D:\coverity-agent". After a while we gave up and reverted back to 1.4.1, which was the last stable version that we had experience with (we had not tested with 1.5.* and had no time to do it, it was more critical to get back up and running).
So, for our team, 1.6.0 is a bust. We'll be back in six months and try again.

Hi [Jeff Grimmett],
Thanks for the workaround. We do have same situation like you, We don't build in master but we build on various slaves. My Jenkins master is Linux and we have both windows and linux slaves. In this case, How do I add empty directory and configure Coverity plugin (until this bug gets fixed)?.
Just for my understanding, I do tried to debug the issue and I saw the plugin java code, it checks for the dir exists. How did you trace the issue and pointed out its looking the dir in Jenkins master (Though I configure the tool location in the particular build node).

Same problem here. We have over a dozen build agents (we don't build on the master server). What I found out is that the parameter in the global config is being interpreted as for the master server, and if the master server does not have the designated directory, it will fail.
Note, it only needs to have the DIRECTORY. It can be empty. On my build master, it IS empty. That was enough to get things moving.
Version 1.6.0, upgraded from 1.4.something.

don't know if related, but in our environment (Win7) we have spaces in the path which broke the analysis in the latest version:

Build succeeded.
0 Warning(s)
0 Error(s)

Time Elapsed 00:00:52.85
1 C/C++ compilation units (100%) are ready for analysis
The cov-build utility completed successfully.

[Coverity] cmd so far is: [E:\appl\Coverity\Coverity, Static, Analysis, 7.6.1\bin\cov-analyze, --dir,
...
Build step 'Coverity' marked build as failure

with the jenkins log telling us

java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "E:\appl\Coverity\Coverity": CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified

after changing the path to the analysis tool to the old dos name "E:\appl\Coverity\Coveri~4.1" it works now...
