There are times in life where we become so involved with what we are doing that we do not see there is a hurting world in need of our intervention. As children of the Lord, we are to be sensitive to the needs of others and be quick to lend a helping hand when the opportunity arises. In the spirit of being helpful even in the simplest way, we will find that it is we who gave who receive the biggest blessing because we were being used of God to intervene and affect someone else's day for the better. I pray that we never allow our comfort state to keep us from intervening in the lives of others to share His peace and joy to all who are in need. (Galatians 5:13-26) I hope you are greatly blessed by today's message. DON'T WE ALL? One evening I was parked in front of the mall wiping off my car. I had just come from the car wash and was waiting for my wife to get out of work. Coming my way from across the parking lot was what society would consider a bum. From the looks of him, he had no car, no home, no clean clothes, and no money. There are times when you feel generous but there are other times that you just don't want to be bothered. This was one of the "Don't want to be bothered" times. "I hope he doesn't ask me for money," I thought. He didn't. He came and sat on the curb in front of the bus stop and he didn't look like he could have enough money to even ride the bus. After a few minutes he spoke. "That's a very nice car," he said. He was ragged but had an air of dignity around him. I said, "Thanks," and continued wiping off my car. He sat there quietly as I worked. The expected plea for money never came. As the silence between us widened something inside said, 'ask him if he needs any help.' I was sure that he would say yes, but I held true to the inner voice. "Do you need any help?" I asked. He answered in three simple but profound words that I shall never forget. We often look for wisdom in great men and women. We expect it from those of higher learning and accomplishments. I expected nothing but an outstretched grimy hand. He spoke three words that shook me. "Don't we all?" he said. I needed help. Maybe not for bus fare or a place to sleep, but I needed help. I reached in my wallet and gave him not only enough for bus fare but enough to get a warm meal and shelter for the day. Those three little words still ring true. No matter how much you have, no matter how much you have accomplished, you need help too. No matter how little you have, no matter how loaded you are with problems, even without money or a place to sleep, you can give help. Even if it's just a compliment, you can give that. You never know when you may see someone that appears to have it all. They are waiting on you to give them what they don't have. A different perspective on life, a glimpse at something beautiful, a respite from daily chaos, that only you through a torn world can see. Maybe the man was just a homeless stranger wandering the streets. Maybe he was more than that. Maybe he was sent by a power that is great and wise to minister to a soul too comfortable in themselves. Maybe God looked down, called an Angel, dressed him like a bum, then said, "Go minister to that man cleaning the car, that man needs help." From: Bayo Afolaranmi DO NOT LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" (John 14:1, 27b, NIV). There are a lot of problems and hardships today that make the world unbearable for living. No one is immune from these things that are confronting human beings every day. Many have given up all hopes and are expecting the worst to happen. Some have even resorted to taking their lives. However, in all these, Jesus Christ says, "Do not let your hearts be troubled." Jesus Christ was with his disciples in the upper room giving them His farewell speech when He made this statement. His disciples were disturbed because of some events that He predicted. These events included: He was going away (John 7:34; 8:21; 12:8, 35; 13:33); He would die (John 12:32-33); one of them was a betrayer (John 13:21); Satan was at work against all of them (Luke 22:31-32); they would not be able to follow Him to where He was going (John 13:36); Peter would deny Him thrice (John 13:38); and all of them would fall away (Matthew 26:31). Nevertheless, Jesus counseled them to believe in God and also in Him (John 14:1). He was saying in essence that they should believe in, adhere to, trust in and rely on Him. Trust is the great antidote for a troubled heart. Seeing God above our problems will make our hearts not to be troubled. Jesus Christ did not ask His disciples to only trust in Him as an antidote for their troubled hearts, He also gave some other reasons for His admonition. He affirmed the reality of heaven where He was going to prepare a place for the disciples (as well as other believers), and come back to take them (John 14:2-3). The reward of Christian service in the hereafter is an encouragement to the disciples and even believers today to persevere in trials of faith. Jesus would not leave the disciples alone in the world. He promised that the Father would send another Comforter to them, Someone who would abide with them forever (John 14:15-17, 26). This would be the Holy Spirit. Despite the fact that Jesus Christ would leave His disciples, He would give them His peace (John 14:27). This peace would be different from the worldly peace or any other peace that they could think of. But this peace, as Paul put it, ".transcends all understanding, [and it] will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7, NIV). This would not be for them, just as part of their lives in eternity, but as a vital aspect of their lives on earth. The peace is also for all that put their total trust in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ briefly mentioned it as He was rounding off His farewell speech that He has overcome Satan, the prince of this world (John 14:30). Satan might have come to this world, yet he would not overcome the disciples. Jesus Christ reaffirmed it also in John 16:33 that He has overcome the world. What are you passing through that is making your heart to be troubled? Remember Jesus' admonition, "Do not let your hearts be troubled." He has gone to prepare our eternal home for us. He will come back to take us to Himself. Come to God through Him, the only true living Way. Allow the Holy Spirit to have His way in your life. You will experience His peace. "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. JNM - Penyembah Yang Benar & RENCANA KESELAMATAN ALLAH
From: sunanto choa Penyembah Yang Benar Oleh : Sunanto Yohanes 4:23 "Tetapi saatnya akan datang dan sudah tiba sekarang, bahwa penyembah-penyembah benar akan menyembah Bapa dalam roh dan kebenaran; sebab Bapa menghendaki penyembah-penyembah demikian." Pada umumnya bila seorang Kristen mendengar kata 'Penyembah atau Peyembahan" maka akan mengasosiasikannya dengan ibadah atau kebaktian di gereja. Tapi yang anehnya, Yesus mengatakan hal tentang penyembahan ini bukan kepada orang percaya melainkan kepada seorang perempuan Samaria yang sedang mencari air. Bila penyembahan itu merupakan sesuatu yang berhubungan dengan ibadah di bait suci, seharusnya Yesus membicarakan hal tentang penyembahan itu kepada para murid dan orang percaya lainnya. Mengapa Yesus justru membicarakan hal penyembahan kepada orang Samaria yang kafir itu ? Seringkali kita beranggapan yang dimaksud penyembahan hanyalah berhubungan dengan ibadah di gereja atau persekutuan doa. Ibadah di gereja atau persekutuan doa hanyalah merupakan salah satu ekspresi dari penyembahan. Namun penyembahan itu seharusnya menjadi gaya hidup kita sehari-hari. Semua hal yang kita kerjakan setiap hari seharusnya menjadi penyembahan kepada Tuhan sebab semua hal yang kita lakukan harus untuk kemuliaan Tuhan. Baik ketika ada di tempat kerja, jalan, restoran, tempat belanja atau dimanapun juga, kita harus memiliki sikap penyembahan. Dalam 24 jam sehari dan 7 hari seminggu, setiap detiknya harus menjadi waktu penyembahan kepada Tuhan. Yesus berkata penyembah-penyembah benar akan menyembah Bapa dalam roh dan kebenaran. Yang dimaksud menyembah dalam roh dan kebenaran adalah untuk menjadi penyembah yang benar, seseorang harus dilahirkan baru oleh Roh dan dibenarkan oleh darah Kristus. Bila belum dilahirkan baru dan disucikan oleh darah Kristus, manusia tidak dapat menyembah Bapa dengan benar. Setiap kita yang sudah dilahirkan baru menjadi anak Allah dan telah disucikan oleh darah Kristus dapat menyembah Bapa dengan benar. Allah itu Roh dan barangsiapa menyembah Dia, harus menyembah-Nya dalam roh dan kebenaran ( Yoh 4:24 ). Manusia diciptakan oleh Tuhan dengan pola untuk menyembah/mengidolakan sesuatu. Bila kita tidak menyembah Tuhan maka pasti akan menyembah yang lain. Itulah sebabnya lomba untuk menjadi idola yang dipuja oleh banyak orang menjadi hal yang sangat laku dijual. Bahkan orang ateis yang mengaku tidak percaya adanya Tuhan sebenarnya menyembah sesuatu yaitu menyembah kepercayaan mereka tentang tidak adanya Tuhan. Ada sebuah hukum yang menyatakan seseorang akan menjadi seperti apa yang dia sembah. Jadi jangan heran bila ada orang yang memuja/mengidolakan seorang artis ( celebrity ) maka sikap dan gaya hidupnya biasanya akan mirip dengan artis tersebut. Mari kita memuja dan mengidolakan Yesus Kristus sehingga sifat dan sikap hidup kita akan menjadi seperti Dia. Dalam Perjanjian Lama hampir semua perabotan di bait suci terbuat dari emas atau dilapisi oleh emas. Emas melambangkan kemurnian, kemuliaan dan kelenturan ( mudah dibentuk ). Tuhan menuntut kemurnian dan kekudusan dari setiap orang yang ingin menyembahNya dengan intim. Semakin tinggi tingkat kekudusan yang kita miliki maka kita akan bisa semakin intim dalam bersekutu dan menyembahNya. Tommy Tenney mengatakan posisi penyembahan yang paling benar adalah posisi dimana kita benar-benar sepenuhNya bergantung kepada Allah. Jika kita ingin menjadi penyembah yang benar, kita harus mengijinkan Tuhan menempa hidup kita sehingga kita menempati posisi yang demikian. Tuhan akan mengijinkan penghancuran dan penempaan terjadi dalam hidup kita sehingga kita dibawa ke dalam sebuah posisi dimana yang ada hanyalah Dia. Tujuan Tuhan dengan penempaan bukanlah untuk kita menderita dan susah , melainkan Ia ingin hidup kita hanya berpusat kepada Dia sehingga kita bisa menjadi penyembah yang benar. Terimalah dan ijinkanlah Tuhan menghancurkan dam memurnikan hidup anda. Ciri-ciri agama spiritisme : hanya memperhatikan hubungan dengan Tuhan dan tidak dengan sesama v Inti daripada kekristenan adalah : HUBUNGAN <--> RELATIONSHIP Karena iblis mengetahui hal ini maka iblis selalu merusak hubungan antara kita dengan manusia sehingga kita (orang percaya) tidak bisa menggarami dunia. Bagaimana membangun hubungan yang sehat? Tidak boleh mementingkan diri sendiri (egois) --> Roma 15:1-2 Ø Seseorang yang mementingkan diri sendiri biasanya hubungan dengan sesama akan bubar/ tidak akan bertahan lama. Sehingga jika orang lain tinggalkan kita, maka kita tidak dapat menggarami mereka Ø Ikuti teladan Yesus yang tidak exclusive yang memiliki hubungan baik dengan semua orang, baik dengan pelacur, pemungut cukai, serta orang-orang yang buruk dimata masyarakat. Jangan suka menghakimi --> Roma 14: 10,13 ; Matius 7:1-5 Ø Orang yang suka menghakimi tidak disukai orang. Biasanya tindakan menghakimi akan menyakiti perasaan orang lain sehingga orang akan meninggalkan kita. Suka mengampuni orang dan tidak pendendam --> Mat 18: 21-22 Ø Pendendam dan sakit hati tidak akan memiliki teman Ø Kekerasan tidak dapat dihadapi dengan kekerasan Ø Cuek/ masa bodoh terhadap orang yang menyakiti bukanlah tindakan mengampuni >> hanya menunggu bom waktu yang dapat meledak setiap saat. Kita harus menjaga perkataan kita --> Efesus 4:29 Dengan perkataan kita dapat membangun semangat yang patah atau sebaliknya dapat menghancurkan orang lain. Lisa = Syaloom, Saya ingin membagikan kesaksian hidup saya yang mengubah hidup saya, semoga dapat menjadi saluran berkat bagi yang memerlukan. Saya tidak keberatan akan diapakan kesaksian saya ini selama untuk kemuliaan nama Tuhan, semoga Tuhan memberkati. Kegagalan Yang Mahal. Aku baru saja lulus informatika sekolah terkenal, dan setelah kelulusan, aku mempunyai keinginan yang sangat keras untuk pergi ke amerika untuk bekerja. Aku berusaha dengan segala cara agar keinginanku ini terwujud. Aku banyak mencari informasi dan rela bolak balik sidoarjo sampai aku sudah tidak kuat lagi menaiki sepeda motor. Aku rela membayar biaya yang sangat mahal untuk agen. Cita-citaku memang ingin mempunyai penghasilan besar di Amerika, mengingat aku tidak mempunyai usaha keluarga untuk diteruskan. Tidak seperti teman-temanku yang hampir semua mempunyai usaha keluarga. Bila aku bekerja di perusahaan, gaji yang kuterima hanya sekitar 1 jt, memang cukup untuk sendiri, tapi tidak untuk masa depan meskipun tiap tahun naik 10%. Biaya hidup yang tinggi membuatku harus berpikir untuk mencari uang yang lebih besar. Jika dibandingkan dengan luar negri, memang sangat jauh. Aku pernah berpikir seminggu waktuku kuhabiskan di Indonesia, berarti aku telah membuang 5 jt. Dengan pikiran tiap minggu kehilangan kesempatan memperoleh 5 jt, aku berusaha keras untuk bisa bekerja di luar negri. Aku berusaha keras meminta persetujuan orang tua, dengan janji-janjiku. Akhirnya dengan berat hati, orang tua menyetujui. Tinggal masalah visa yang terberat. Karena aku harus interview langsung, dan untuk mendapat visa Amerika memang tidak mudah. Selain itu aku harus memalsu beberapa dokumen. Selama ini aku bertanya-tanya pada Tuhan, apakah yang kulakukan ini benar, apakah Dia setuju dengan rencanaku ini, apakah Dia juga ikut mendukung? Akupun sempat berjanji-janji pada Tuhan apabila aku berhasil. Selama itu aku merasa tidak mendengar jawabanNya, atau aku yang tidak bisa mendengarNya saat itu. Memang banyak kesulitan aku temui, banyak penghalang yang muncul dalam pengurusan visa, tapi aku "memaksa" Tuhan dengan berdoa "Tuhan, ijinkanlah aku berangkat!". Aku berpatokan kalau memang visaku gagal berarti aku tidak boleh berangkat. Banyaknya penghalang dalam visa kuartikan sebagai ujian dari Tuhan untuk menguji kesungguhanku. Aku berusaha mencari solusi dalam tiap proses sampai akhirnya visaku benar-benar disetujui. Alangkah gembiranya aku saat itu, usahaku selama ini tidak sia-sia, aku bisa berangkat ke Amerika dan Tuhan sudah tunjukkan ijinNya, berarti Tuhan setuju. Aku senang sekali, meskipun bayanganku nanti aku akan berhadapan dengan kerja keras dan penderitaan, tapi aku optimis aku akan sanggup menghadapinya. Akhirnya aku berangkat ke Amerika. So, he decided that he would go out and kill something for dinner. As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit and he shot at the rabbit and missed it. Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel and missed it. As he went further, he saw a wild turkey in the tree and he had only one bullet, but a voice came to him and said "pray first, aim high and stay focused ." However, at the same time, he saw a deer which was a better kill. He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattle snake between his legs about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattle snake. Still, the voice said again to him, "I said 'pray, aim high and stay focused." So, the man decided to listen to the voice. He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree and shot the wild turkey. The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer. The handle fell off the gun and hit the snake in the head and killed it. And, when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond. When he stood to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer and a turkey to eat. The snake (Satan) was dead simply because the man listened to God. 1. Pray first before you do anything, aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God. Pass this on in order that someone else might be blessed. 2. Never let others discourage you concerning your past. The past is exactly that - " the past." Live every day one day at a time. And remember that only God knows our future and that he will not put you through any more than you can bear. 3. Do not look to man for your blessings but look to the Lord. He can open doors for you that only He is able to do. Doors that you will not slip through but doors that only He has prepared in advance for you in your favor. Wait, and be still, be patient: keep God first and everything else will follow. === From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Lessons On Life, Love & Trust TRUST is a very important factor for all relationships. When trust is broken, it is the end of the relationship. Lack of trust leads to suspicion, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity and enmity may result in separation. A telephone operator told me that one day she received a phone call. She answered, "Public Utilities Board." There was silence. She repeated, "PUB." There was still no answer. When she was going to cut off the line, she Heard a lady's voice, "Oh, so this is PUB. Sorry, I got the number from my Husband's pocket but I do not know whose number it is." Without mutual trust, just imagine what will happen to the couple if the telephone operator answered with just "hello" instead of "PUB". NO POINTING FINGERS A man asked his father-in-law, "Many people praised you for a successful marriage. Could you please share with me your secret?" The father-in-law answered in a smile, "Never criticise your wife for her shortcomings or when she does something wrong. Always bear in mind that because of her shortcomings and weaknesses, she could not find a better husband than you." We all look forward to being loved and respected. Many people are afraid of losing face. Generally, when a person makes a mistake, he would look around to find a scapegoat to point the finger at. This is the start of a war. We should always remember that when we point one finger at a person, the other four fingers are pointing at ourselves. If we forgive others, others will ignore our mistake too. --- CREATING PERFECT RELATIONSHIPS? A person visited the government matchmaker for marriage, SDU, and requested "I am looking for a spouse. Film ini berkisah tentang 2 orang pendaki gunung, Joe Simpson (25th) dan Simon Yats (35th) , pada sekitar tahun 1995, mereka mendaki salah satu puncak pegunungan Siula Grande, Peru, tinggi 21.000 kaki. Pegunungan tsb diselimuti salju abadi. Mereka bersama2 mendaki mencapai salah satu puncak Siula Grande, namun sewaktu mereka hendak kembali kedaratan, ditengah perjuangan untuk turun, Joe tergelincir dan akibatnya dia jatuh dan tergantung diantara tebing. Sementara Simon pada posisi yang lebih tinggi dan belum turun, Simon terus memegang tali Joe yang sebagian sudah tertancap di dinding gunung, Joe mengalami patah kaki kanannya, dan sementara itu mereka berusaha utk berkomunikasi dan berteriak2, oe jatuh cukup jauh sehingga teriakan Simon tidak terdengar, begitupun Joe , Simon tahu bahwa Joe masih hidup tergantung2 tetapi tidak ada cara lain untuk menyelamatkan Joe, singkat serita Joe sempat tergantung2 selama 2 hari, dan sempat berusaha utk mendaki lewat tali, tetapi sudah kehilangan tenaga & kondisi kaki yang patah tidak memungkinkan . Pada malam ke 3, Simon memutuskan untuk mengambil tindakan, bahwa setelah tidak lagi dirasakan ada getaran/gerakan di tali Joe, dia mengira Joe telah meninggal dunia. Simon memutuskan untuk memotong tali Joe dan kemudian dia turun gunung lewat jalur sebelahnya. Sesampai dikaki gunung, Simon bertemu dgn rekannya, dan menceritakan bahwa Joe mengalami musibah dan terlah meninggal dunia. Mereka pun mengadakan ritual untuk `melepas' kepergian Joe, dengan membaka semua sisa baju Joe yang masih ada di tenda dan mengucapkan selamat jalan.. Sementara itu Joe terjatuh dan mendarat disalah satu celah pegunungan yang bersalju sangat tebal, dan sungguh ajaib Joe selamat dan mulailah perjuangan Joe untuk keluar dari celah/gua tsb, dimulai dengan berteriak memanggil Simon, tetapi tidak ada gunanya. Joe sempat berputus asa dan berteriak2 histeris, sebelum jatuh tertidur kelelahan.. Dia terbangun oleh cahaya silau yang ternyata sinar matahari masuk ke celah tsb, dan Joe memantapkan hatinya bahwa itu adalah satu2nya jalan bagi dia buat keluar, maka dia mulai merangkak menuju selah asal sinar mentari tsb. Perjuangan yang sungguh menegangkan karena hanya celah tsb satu2nya harapan bagi dia buat selamat. Akhirnya setelah berjam2 merangkak, dia berhasil keluar dari gua tsb, dan begitu lega dia melihat langit biru dan mentari terik..Joe berteriak2 sukacita, tetapi perjuangan Joe tidak stop sampai disana, dia harus berjuang tuun gunung tsb, dan dengan badan yang semakin lemah dia turn dengan merangkak dgn kaki kanannya di balut jaket ektra yg ada di ranselnya. Dia mengalami pembekuan jari2 tangannya , halunisasi, karena tidak makan minum berhari2 dan sewaktu2 karena terlalu hau dan dehidrasi dia mendengar suara percikan air dan ia mengetuk2 bebatuan sekitar, dgn harapan dapat minum tetapi tidak ada air sama sekaliJoe terus turun perlahan, mengikuti jejak Simon yang membekas. Begit sampai di tempat yg agak rendah Joe menemukan air mengalir dari celah2 batu dan dia mengumpulkan air tsb, dgn tanah disekitarnya dan dia minum air bercampur tanah merah, hingaa tersedak2 batuk.. kasihan sekali :( melihat perjuangan dia.Joe sempat makan serangga2 yang dia temui di jalan. Pasda hari ke 7, sampailah dia di bawah ke tepi danau tempat mereka berkemah sebelumnya, karena hari sudah malam, Joe tdk sanggup lagi berjalan, dia rebah dan masih sempat memanggil2 nama Simon, salah seorang rekan yg di dalam tenda terbangun sebab mendengar ada suara manusia memanggil2 Simon, tetapi dia ragu, apakah mungkin itu halunisasi dan tidak mungkin Joe yang telah meninggal itu memanggil2 Simon.dan dia membangunkan Simon..dan dia mendengarkan baik2 dan segera Simon keluar tenda , yakin benar bahwa itu suaranya Joe, dan benar saja dia menemukan Joe tergeletak tidak jauh dari tenda , Simon segera memeluk Joe dan memeriksa apakah Joe masih bernafas dan segera membawanya masuk ke tenda dan merawatnya.. Akhir cerita.Joe selamat walaupun kehilangan 2/3 bobotnya, singkat cerita setelah kembali ke USA, mereka menceritakan pengalaman luar biasa dan ajaib ini, dan bahwa untuk ukuran manusia normal, tidaklah mungkin Joe mampu bertahan hidup selam itu di luar sana, tanpa makan minum dan pelindng tubuh yang cukup, tetapi hal ini memang keajaian dan Tuhan saja yang melindungi Joe , sehingga dia bisa tetap selamat. Hampir seluruh teman2 menyalahi perbuatan Simon yang meninggalkan Joe dan memotong talinya, tetapi malahan Joe membela Simon dan mengatakan justru karena talinya di potong, maka dia tetap hidup, jika tidak dia sudah benar2 jadi mayat yang tergantung2 di celah tebing. Joe mensyukuri tindakan Simon yang berani mengambil keputusan dan walaupun seluruh orang mencela keputusan Simon, tapi Joe tetap merasa berutang nyawa pada Simon.
