SUKSES DALAM TUHANBacaan:
Mazmur 1:1-3
Tuhan akan mengangkat engkau menjadi kepala dan bukan menjadi ekor,
engkau akan tetap naik dan bukan turun, apabila engkau mendengarkan perintah
Tuhan, Tuhanmu, yang kusampaikan pada hari ini kau lakukan dengan setia.
(Ulangan 28:13)Setiap manusia pasti menginginkan sukses. Ini dibuktikan
dengan banyak orang mengambil kuliah, kursus dll. Orang tuapun pasti semampunya
akan menyekolahkan anaknya dengan maksud supaya mereka berhasil dimasa depan.
Hal ini juga berlaku bagi anak-anak Tuhan.
Kita pasti mau sukses, oleh karena itu marilah kita pelajari dalam Mazmur
1:1-3 yang kalau kita renungkan ada empat langkah supaya kita sukses
yaitu:1. Tidak berjalan menurut nasihat orang fasik. Jangan percaya akan
nasihat-nasihat orang fasik tetapi percayalah pada Yesus. Orang dunia banyak
yang berkata-kata negatif, tetapi percayalah di dalam Yesus kita ada pengharapan
dan kita memiliki masa depan yang penuh harapan.2. Tidak berdiri di jalan
orang berdosa (ayat 1b). Artinya kita tidak hidup dalam dosa. Dalam 1 Yoh. 3:4b
dikatakan,
sebab dosa ialah pelanggaran hukum Tuhan. Jadi jangan sampai kita
melanggar hukum Tuhan. Kita harus hidup kudus di hadapan Tuhan yang adalah kudus
adanya.3. Tidak duduk dalam kumpulan pencemooh. Dengan kata lain kita tidak
mengucapkan kata-kata yang sia-sia. Dalam Ams. 18:21 dikatakan,Hidup dan mati
dikuasai lidah, siapa suka menggemakannya akan memakan buahnya. Jadi apa yang
kita ucapkan itulah yang kita terima.4. Kesukaannya ialah Taurat Tuhan (ayat
2). Dalam Yos. 1:8 dikatakan,Janganlah engkau lupa memperkatakan kitab Taurat
ini, tetapi renungkanlah itu siang dan malam, supaya engkau bertindak hati-hati
sesuai dengan segala yang tertulis di dalamnya, sebab dengan demikian
perjalananmu akan berhasil dan engkau akan beruntung. Marilah kita selalu
membaca, merenungkan dan melakukan firman Tuhan.Apabila kita sudah dapat
melakukan keempat hal tersebut di atas, maka seperti janji Tuhan bahwa kita akan
seperti pohon yang ditanam di tepi aliran air, yang menghasilkan buahnya pada
musimnya dan yang tidak layu daunnya serta apa saja yang diperbuatnya berhasil
(Mzm. 1:3). Dengan kata lain, kita memperoleh kesuksesan dan kemenangan besar
dalam hidup kita. (RS)

baik lebih berharga daripada kekayaan besar, dikasihi orang lebih baik daripada
perak dan emas." - Amsal 22:1Jika saya bisa menciptakan sebuah istilah
sebagai sinonim dari "berpikir positif," maka istilah itu adalah memilih yang
terbaik. Karena ketika kita memeriksa segala kemungkinan yang ada, berarti
kita sedang membuat daftar tentang semua pilihan yang ada. Kita sedang
"memilih yang terbaik"! Proses tersebut dimulai ketika kita mempertimbangkan
pilihan kita yang pertama: menjadi seorang percaya ataukah bukan.Sekali
kita memilih untuk berjalan di jalan iman, kita akan terus-menerus menemui
persimpangan -persimpangan itu di mana jalan di depan kita bercabang, sehingga
kita perlu mengajukan pertanyaan ini: "Jalan manakah yang harus aku tempuh
sekarang?" Lalu kita perlu untuk "memilih yang terbaik." Bertanyalah: "Kemanakah
aku mau pergi?" dan "Jalan manakah yang akan membawaku ke sana?"
Berhati-hatilah dalam memilih.Ayat renungan kita pagi ini menuntun kita
untuk dapat menentukan pilihan yang terbaik: "Nama baik lebih berharga daripada
kekayaan besar."Ketika George Beverly Shea masih muda, dia mempunyai
keinginan untuk meniti karir besar yang dapat membawanya pada kemasyhuran dan
keberuntungan. Ibunya sungguh-sungguh prihatin akan hal itu. Pada suatu hari,
ketika George akan berlatih piano, dia menemukan selembar puisi yang diletakkan
oleh ibunya di atas pianonya. Puisi itu berjudul I'd rather have Jesus ("Lebih
baik aku memiliki Yesus"), yang kini menjadi suatu lagu rohani yang terkenal di
dunia. Setelah membacakan kata-kata yang terdapat dalam puisi tersebut,
George Beverly Shea menyerahkan seluruh talenta yang dimilikinya kepada Yesus.
Hasilnya? Nyanyiannya telah membawa puluhan ribu orang kepada Kristus.
Hari ini kita mempunyai banyak pilihan. Sebagian dari pilihan itu akan
menjadi kecil dan kurang berarti, namun sebagian lagi mungkin akan memberikan
pengaruh yang besar bagi masa depan kita. Pilihlah dengan hati-hati. Buatlah
pilihan sambil memohon sungguh-sungguh kepada Tuhan dalam doa."Ya Tuhan,
aku menyadari bahwa ada banyak pilihan yang terbentang di hadapanku. Namun pagi
ini aku berdoa, biarlah Roh Kudus sendiri yang senantiasa menuntunku untuk dapat
menentukan pilihan terbaik bagiku yang sungguh-sungguh sesuai dengan

Mang Ucup baru tahu bahwa permainan sepak bola itu sebenarnya diciptakan oleh Rasul Petrus dua ribu tahun yang lampau, masalahnya Tuhan Yesus sering berdoa, selama menunggu Ia berdoa para rasul sering ketiduran. Dulunya tim itu terdiri dari 12 rasul, tapi karena si Yudas sering teler, jadi hanya tinggal sebelas saja. Dari situlah asal muasalnya permainan sepak bola itu. Hal ini tidak tercantum dlm Alkitab, tapi mang Ucup mendapakan bocoran dari sang malaikat, sebab semalam mang Ucup mimpi ketemu malaikat. Dalam mimpinya malaikat tsb berkata: "Sejak adanya piala dunia ini lho kagak pernah berdoa lagi, bahkan kerumah ibadahpun bolos terus, karena sibuk ama bola, maka dari itu aku diutus untuk memberikan kabar untuk mang Ucup"Malaikat: Memang di sorga tidak ada TV tapi disana setiap saat para penghuni sorga bisa nonton bola secara live, maklum yang gibol juga disana banyak.Untuk tidak mengecewakan mereka, maka sering diadakan pertandingan, umpamanya Tim Rasul lawan Tim Nabi. Be encouraged to spend time with the Lord sharing with Him all that is on your heart and know that it is God's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.(Deuteronomy 8:16-19) (Luke 12:32) (John 16:23-24) (John 15:5-8) (Proverbs 8:17)I hope you are encouraged by today's message to spend time with the Lord inprayer knowing that God hears you and He will answer your hearts cry.HOLY FIREAlthough the temperatures during the winter of 1939 were especially frigid,Carl and Catherine remember that year with special warmth.As pastors of a very small church in northern Illinois, they lived in a drafty parsonage heated only by a coal stove. It was one thing for them tobe chilly; it was quite another for their 6-month-old firstborn son.This was the heart of the Great Depression, and the church paid only a small, token salary. And there simply wasn't enough money to supply their most basic needs.Said Carl: "With our last fuel in the heating stove, we knelt in our devotional prayer time and asked God to provide us with some coal. As weprayed, the mailman's feet were heard crunching on the snow on our wooden porch."After they finished with their prayer time, they collected their mailconsisting of one letter.Upon opening it, they read the following: We thought maybe you needed somemoney to keep the baby warm. Biarlah hidup terjadi melalui engkau."Kalimat pertama menggambarkan betapa diri saya ini bagai papan panah, karena saya cenderung melihat hidup sebagai sesuatu yang menimpa saya. Saya merasa seperti papan panah yang kelelahan. Saya menggunakan semua tenaga saya untuk melindungi diri dari panah-panah cobaan hidup.Namun, kalimat kedua, "Biarlah hidup terjadi melalui engkau," memberi pendekatan yang berbeda. Bukannya menghindari panah-panah hidup yang ganas, saya justru harus mengizinkan hidup dan kasih Allah tersalur melalui saya. From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] daily devotionalMorning and Evening Morning ... Zechariah 6:13He shall build the temple of the Lord; and He shall bear the glory. Christ Himself is the builder of His spiritual temple, and He has built it on the mountains of His unchangeable affection, His omnipotent grace, and His infallible truthfulness. But as it was in Solomon's temple, so in this; the materials need making ready. There are the "Cedars of Lebanon," but they are not framed for the building; they are not cut down, and shaped, and made into those planks of cedar, whose odoriferous beauty shall make glad the courts of the Lord's house in Paradise. There are also the rough stones still in the quarry, they must be hewn thence, and squared. All this is Christ's own work. Each individual believer is being prepared, and polished, and made ready for his place in the temple; but Christ's own hand performs the preparation-work. Afflictions cannot sanctify, excepting as they are used by Him to this end. Our prayers and efforts cannot make us ready for heaven, apart from the hand of Jesus, who fashioneth our hearts aright. As i n the building of Solomon's temple, "there was neither hammer, nor axe, nor any tool of iron, heard in the house," because all was brought perfectly ready for the exact spot it was to occupy-so is it with the temple which Jesus builds; the making ready is all done on earth. When we reach heaven, there will be no sanctifying us there, no squaring us with affliction, no planing us with suffering. No, we must be made meet here-all that Christ will do beforehand; and when He has done it, we shall be ferried by a loving hand across the stream of death, and brought to the heavenly Jerusalem, to abide as eternal pillars in the temple of our Lord. "Beneath His eye and care, The edifice shall rise, Majestic, strong, and fair, And shine above the skies." Luke 1:17(17) And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. "In the spirit and power of Elijah" indicates John resembled Elijah in doing a similar work of revealing the true God through a ministry devoted to preaching repentance and the certainty of things contained in the Scriptures regarding Christ. Perhaps it also includes working with a similar zeal, though he accomplished his function without miracles ( John 10:41). Obviously, God does not measure a man's greatness by the miracles he does.On two separate occasions, in Matthew 11:13-15 and again in Matthew 17:10-13, Jesus says John is the Elijah to come. Notice first Matthew 11:13-15: "For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" Let him who has ears, listen! Jesus wants His audience to pay the utmost attention. To what? To the fact that John is the Elijah to come! He had fulfilled Malachi 4:5-6.Notice, too, Jesus' introductory comment in verse 14, "And if you are willing to receive it. . . ." This strongly suggests that He was about to say something different than what His listeners expected. They supposed Elijah would appear in person! This explains why, when John was asked by the delegation from Jerusalem whether he was Elijah, he replied, "I am not" ( John 1:21). Though he was Elijah in spirit and power, he was not the literal Elijah they were expecting. The Jews of Jesus' day were just as wrong about Elijah as are many today who are looking for another Elijah to appear before Jesus' second coming. The foundation upon which our faith rests is this, that "God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them." The great fact on which genuine faith relies is, that "the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us," and that "Christ also hath suffered for sin, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God"; "Who Himself bare our sins in His own body on the tree"; "For the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." In one word, the great pillar of the Christian's hope is substitution. The vicarious sacrifice of Christ for the guilty, Christ being made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him, Christ offering up a true and proper expiatory and substitutionary sacrifice in the room, place, and stead of as many as the Father gave Him, who are known to God by name, and are recognized in their own hearts by their trusting in Jesus-this is the cardinal fact of the gospel.
