Project management software with JAWS.

2014-08-08 Thread Michael Mote via Jfw
Hi folks! I'm looking to find a project management tool that works well
with JAWS. Does anyone out there have any good recommendations that they
can send my way? Many thanks!

Issue with Jaws and unread count of messages in Outlook 2010 and Office 365

2014-08-08 Thread Cristóbal via Jfw
Hello list,

Yesterday I finally got around to linking my Office 365 account to my Office
2010 on my Windows 7 laptop.

The process was easy enough and I was able to add my exchange accounts to
Outlook 2010. Now however, I am finding that Jaws no longer reads the number
of unread messages when bringing up the Go to Folder dialog box with the
control+y command.

The only reason I even use the control+y command is that with the JFW 15
release, Jaws was no longer announcing the unread count in the navigation
treeview. The control+y keystroke wasn’t an ideal solution, but it worked.

I’m guessing this new problem has to do with what I did yesterday, but don’t
know what it possibly could be. Sometimes, if I know there’s an unread
message, I’ll go to that inbox (I have 6 different accounts configured) then
bring up the dialog with the ctl+y and Jaws will indeed say the number of
unread items. But, if I cycle through the other inboxes or folders for that
matter that also have unread items, Jaws may speak the information once, but
after going through all inboxes that one time, no more. Not even the inbox
with the unread messages I started at.

The status bar (insert+pg down) doesn’t read the number of messages in the
highlighted folder anymore either.

I need access to the additional exchange accounts for my business and the
Outlook web appis a nightmare with Jaws. So just getting rid of the exchange
accounts isn’t really an option.

I didn right FS about this earlier today, but as it’s the weekend, I’m not
really expecting to hear back from them until at least the beginning of next
week.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

JAWS doesn't read the first static text in WPF dialog?

2014-08-08 Thread Xiaogang(Michael) Zhu via Jfw
On Windows, JAWS will read out the first static text (normally a block of
description text) in MFC/Win32 dialog automatically. We are converting
MFC/Win32 dialogs to WPF/C#. But it looks like JAWS doesn't automatically read
the first description text in WPF/C# dialog anymore.

Does anyone have any idea about this problem? Any work-around for this?

Thanks,

-Michael

RE: Issue with Jaws and unread count of messages in Outlook 2010 and Office 365

2014-08-08 Thread Adrian Spratt via Jfw
I've had these problems for a long time, using JAWS 14/15, win7, Outlook 2010.
I have two workarounds that help on my system.

First, you can create an unread folder in Outlook. I'm sorry, I don't
remember how I did this, but Google will show the way. For whatever reason,
JAWS always gives me the number of messages in this folder.

I realize it defeats the purpose of having six inboxes (I have four), but when
I need to know how many new messages I have so that I can deal with them
quickly, this more or less does the job.

Second, I find that JAWS states the number of messages in a folder when you
arrow down to that folder's name in the folder list. So I'll get to the folder
in the usual way, say with first letter navigation, then arrow up a couple of
times, then arrow back down to the name I want. Cumbersome to explain, but
quickly done in practice.

I realize how ridiculous these workarounds must seem, but the real
ridiculousness is that they're necessary. I long ago gave up encouraging FS to
fix these message-count flaws in Outlook.
