Hi List,

Are SSD drives all internal or external drives?

Thanks

Geoff

My laptop and my office desktop both have solid state drives. They are
wonderful! JAWS has no difficulty with them at all. in fact, I think I
probably have fewer crashes than what I see reported here.

Will jaws work on a computer that uses a solid state drive rather than a
traditional harddrive?

Hi,

I am not using either at the moment - what is the difference and how would I
know? Are there different subscription levels?

Thanks.

It works exceptionally well for me. I also have JAWS 16, Windows 7 64-bit
and the office 365 subscription. I have no complaints and things are
updated seamlessly in the background without my having to do anything.

Do you know when the webinar was made - I don't seem to be able to find it

I am seriously thinking of getting a windows tablet.

Thanks.

There is a freedom scientific webinar on tablets which indicates you need at
least 2gb of ram and make sure it has the full Windows 8 or 8.1 not the
other version (forget what it was called)

Subject: 8 HP Stream 4G tablet question

Hello list,

So I’ve been considering grabbing one of these tablets.

Mainly for leisurely use. Reading eBooks, audio/video stuff, Internet
browsing and so on. I’ll maybe connect my business emails to it, but beyond
that, I don’t’ expect to use it for work related purposes.

My understanding is that Jaws will work on this device. My question is,
considering that this tablet appears to only have 1GB of memory on board,
how much will the JFW user experience be compromised by this? Sluggishness
in speech, overall device slowing down, can I have more than one or two apps
running in the background along with Jaws, etc.?

Can the memory in fact be upgraded/expanded to 2GB?

I would appreciate any feedback users of this or perhaps an alternative
Windows 8.1 tablet can provide with their JFW 16 experiences.

Thank you,

Outlook 2013 and JAWS Query

2015-03-06 Thread Geoff Clarke via Jfw
Hi,

Following closer examination of the menus I find you can delete a folder by
going into the folder you wand to delete.

Open menus go to the Folder Tab and down arrow until you find a Delete
Folder option.

Sorry to trouble everyone.

Windows Tablets and JAWS

2015-03-04 Thread Geoff Clarke via Jfw
Hi,

I am thinking of buying a Windows Tablet and installing JAWS on it. I see
from one of the podcasts that this is possible. There appear to be a wide
range of specifications for Window tablets.

Does anyone know what specifications I will require when buying one.

Thanks.

Subject: RE: Windows Tablets and JAWS

Hi,

You need to buy a tablet that:

* Has an Intel or AMD processor.

* Runs Windows 8.1 desktop edition (I'd recommend against installing Windows

10 for now due to major compatibility issues); this excludes anything that
runs Windows RT.

I'd recommend the following specs:

* Fourth generation or newer Intel Core I3/I5/I7 or AMD APU's.

* At least 2 GB of RAM (4 GB or higher might be better).

* Any screen size will do.

* At least one USB port or a built-in or detachable keyboard.

I recommend at least JAWS 15 to take advantage of touch cursor.

Cheers,

Joseph
