good rss readers

Hi.

Have been using sharp reader from http://www.sharpreader.net, but when I
upgraded to windows 10, keep getting a fatal error.

Unexpected error.

Did send feedback to the developer.

And the only way to get it to work is to uinstall, then reinstall.

Using windows 10 pro 64 bit , so any recommendations for a easy to use rss
reader with jaws 16 or 17.

accessible design software

Hi.

Pasting an e-mail, from my lectuer.

Have to do use, case, state and other diagrams.

I am a blind it student, and this is a core subject.

Any ideas.

I use a screen reader jaws for windows from http://www.freedomscientific.com

Any ideas, any software, which will help.

Must be some software, that can design accessible diagrams.

Any ideas.

Marvin, that is a shame. I understand that diagrams are visual
representations, but to stop visually impaired from creating or using them
is not great.

 

There is a core Unit of Competency that is required to be completed for this
qualification. The important part of this unit is.

Elements and Performance Criteria


ELEMENT 

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA 


Elements describe the essential outcomes.

Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate
achievement of the element.


1. Derive high-level design from specification

1.1 Develop static class diagram from given set of specifications

1.2 Develop either collaboration diagram or sequence diagram from given set
of specifications

1.3 Develop either activity diagram or state diagram from given set of
specifications


2. Refine design

2.1 Investigate and refine behaviour, state of classes and collaboration

If you have any thoughts about how you could address these requirements? May
I suggest sending these requirements to some blind colleagues and see what
they might suggest.

 

Unfortunately, as this is a core unit of competence I am unable to change it
to another unit.

drop box issue

latest jaws update voices bug

Hi.

Well.

The latest jaws update has a bug, and has some thing to do with the  voices.

When I installed the latest update, jaws works fine with eloquence for a
while, then if I switch to say, ava, goes very slow, and if I go to
eloquence, goes very fast and like chip munks.

And so.

Have e-mailed the issue to freedom scientific.com.

So if you are experiencing the same issues.

Had to totally uinstall jaws , and then reinstall, and say no to the
updates.

Now just checked the eloquence and the vocaliser voices, and they go to the
correct voice, and speak out the correct settings, which I have, set to 64
for speed, all for punctuation, so.

Just warning you.

Hopefully fs will fix this issue with vocaliser voices.

Had to use the windows 8.1 hazel voice, okay, but a bit sluggish.

Not asresponsive as vocaliser and eloquence.

windows 8.1 64 bit enterprise sounds issues

Hi.

Running windows 8.1 64 bit enterprise, and when I boot up my Toshiba laptop,
satellite pro c-50-a, boots up fast boot, have jaws hear the sign in
message, but do not hear the start up sound for windows, and then jaws
starts up.

Gone to sounds, and have the windows sound scheme, and the sound scheme
modified.

How do I get the windows start up sound, and it is checked, and so.

Real weird.

Do not want to have to reinstall windows again.

All other sounds are working.

So.

How do I get this back, is there a windows 8.1 64 bit enterprise sound pack,
for my Toshiba, or maybe download the sound drivers, for windows 7, that's
what originally came with my laptop, and then upgraded to windows 8.1 using
classic shell.

As doing a it programming course and quite a few of the programming
examples,about 80 - 90 % were for windows store and windows phone apps.

So.

Any one got any ideas.

Also, need to find theshutdown   and wake up sounds.

Any one has this issues with a Toshiba laptop.

Just annoying.

Had the start up sound in windows 7, shutdown, and wakeup from sleep

Any one know where I get these soundpacks.

Very annoying.

Love windows 8.1, and I can start the start screen if I want.

Do not want to have to reinstall windows 8.1, just because these annoying
three little problems.

frustration downloading from one drive

Hi.

Got the windows 8.1, via one drive.

But firefox, I select the file, but when I try to click on it, brings up a
download menu, then download.

Does not start it.

And same with internet explorer.

Has the download.

Link.

But ti does not seem to want to download.

And did try copying it.

Into firefox, but then I get the e-mail support abuse.

Tried google chrome, pleasantly surprised, but now I did start downloading
last night and was going to take too long, so clicked exit.

Now.

When I try to select the file and download.

Does not download.

Frustrated, and as we have Australia day.

The lectuer, will not be there.

So have to wait till damn Tuesday, to download.

Can any one help.

Totally frustrated.

Tried this since Friday.

Ps: or do I try another screen reader like nvda, or is there accessible
items and got the latest upgrade for one drive.

Frustrated!

Just want to download the damn file.

Will have to be tomorrow.

As will take too long.

And was at the   hospital today, had a rotten stomach ache, and got the
ambulance, and got home after 6 pm, all clear.

No appenacitis, kidney stones, gaul bladder.

So must be the wog going around.

Frustrated.

Can you help.

Or maybe have to do a tandem for jaws, if some one has sight.

the blind geek zone is closing

Can you post this on the group.

Just heard that the blind-geek-zone will be closing for gooid in bebuary,
lack of resources and lack of funding.

Rick Harman, did put up all the archives over 20 gb of the blind cool tech
podcasts.

So.

If any one has the means, or the cash, or the time.

Maybe some one who has the nous, maybe to host the archives.

Any thoughts?

And looking forward to bills new web work shop tutorials.

And will a new blind geeks site be up on the web any time soon?

Well.

Going to totally uinstall itunes.

Not customsizable enough, and the keyboard short cuts are klunky.

So.

Going to use windows media player for the time being, until maybe there is a
more stable version of winamp, or if vlc media player or some other media
player is more accessible with jaws.

jaws 15 chrashing

Hi.

Running visual studio ultimate 2013.

And it chrashed and doing debugging.

So.

I have a Toshiba satellite pro c - 50 -a.

What should I do?

Turn off the applications in the run dialog.

And Toshiba has their crapp load like the health monitor,and other stuff.

Also.

If I uninstall the Toshiba audio enhanced , what happens.

Any Toshiba users there.

best uml ides or editors

Hi.

Taking a uml class, and need to use a uml editor to design diagrams.

Are there any such software that works with jaws.

I think ibm rational rose, ration rup, rational request is not accessible.

And there is a product called plant uml.

But trying to integrate with eclipse and visual studio is a nightmare.

I did try to install a word plugin, for visual studio, but said it could not
install.

And the plugin would not install in eclipse lunar 4.4.

Any ideas.

Any one used any uml ides or tools.

I have the plextalk, but it almost stretches to my bed from the wall socket.

So wondering, is there any portable, accessible dasi player, that plays
dvds, cds, usb, has batteries, easy to use, blind friendly.

If, so what is it.

accessible uml tools

accessible uml tools

hi. doing a subject, for my software diploma course from
htttp://www.tafesa.edu.au, and have to use these tools. has any one
used these tools with jaws 15. marvin.

my new laptop

Hi.

Going to purchase tomorrow a new Toshiba laptop.

As my hard disk is starting to fail, and had this machine satellite a 300
for almost 6 years.

It will be a satellite pro c 50, from htttp://www.tvsn.com.au

Then will get 4 gb ram, which will make it 8 gb, should fly then.

Ps: it comes with windows 7 pro 64bit, and also windows 8.1 64 bit on davd,
a bag, wireless mouse. And comes with a 2.5 or 3.5 ghz processor, 750 gb
hard disk.

Beats my 180 gb at the moment.

update on music

Hi.

Well.

Tried a whole heap of data recovery software, and di not find my music.

So will have to start again, and ask for music, from my relatives, like my
brothers and sister, then rip it from cd.

So.

This will be a slow process.

So.

Oh well.

Had to copy my stuff from the hard disk to the external drive, as my hard
disk is starting to fail.

So.

Not asking for music on this list, as only a general chat list.

So, just letting every one know.

data recovery

Hi.

I tried a suggestion, and got anomie standard particion assist 5.5

And you use the jaws cursur, to explore the screen.

Short story, it took 10 hours to scan my 932 gb external Toshiba hard disk,
and then it said the scan was complete, and click the proceed button.

Well, it was still greyed out,and decided to explore the files on the
particion, well, windows 7, decided that the program, was not responding,
and closed, so, when I went back in, had to start the dan scan all over
again.

So.

It dave me this weird file name, wcftrace.clog.

What is this.

And is there any other more accessible, data recovery software, where I can
select the music folder and try to recover that.

Or do I just e-mail support, at anomie.

Just frustrated.

Or am I toast.

Any help.

Please.
