Re: Release Announcement: General Availability of JDK 10

2018-04-10 Thread Vincent Privat
Hi Rory, Dalibor,
Thank you. I thought we started something constructive between our open
source project and Oracle.
But our last bug report concerned WebStart, which is very slow with Java9+.
I spent quite a few hours investigating the issue and created I think a
nicely described bug report 3 months ago:
https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8196053
All of this for nothing: the bug has been closed as won't fix...

Re: josm startup 21 Minutes on current hardware // Disable network updates on start?

2018-04-10 Thread Dirk Stöcker

Hello,

today it hit me again - Josm updates styles on startup which made
the Startup take

2018-04-10 02:21:01.354 INFO: Log level is at INFO (INFO, 800)
[ ... ]
2018-04-10 02:41:33.656 INFO: Toolbar action 1323558253_wikipedia-icon_24
overwritten: kendzi.josm.kendzi3d.action.LoadTextureLibraryAction gets
kendzi.josm.kendzi3d.action.ShowPluginDirAction

Take 21 Minutes.

I am on a DSL Light aka 384KBit/s link and josm without my interaction
first updated a sign style which in itselt is 46MByte

I have disabled plugin autoupdate for the very same reason.

Is there a way to disable even more autoupdate stuff on startup?

Hmm. You could simply donwload the files and instead of adding the URLs
add the local copy.

I suggest to open a ticket for this.

Ciao
