Re: [josm-dev] new confirmation dialog for presets
Hi Vincent, Now I'm depressed. My computer also overheats when using JOSM. Do you think you'll implement a solution for that soon? :-) I think it has something to do with a large shapefile I converted to GPX. The whole system becomes sluggish after a while when I enable that. Incidentally, pressing space bar mitigates the problem of the need to confirm the presets dialog somewhat. (I was constantly going for the enter key, but any key will do. I only realised that after reading that cartoon, so thanks) Now I'm going to read the rest of those cartoons. The bus stops will have to wait... Cheers, Jo 2014-09-14 1:16 GMT+02:00 Vincent Privat vincent.pri...@gmail.com: 2014-09-13 13:11 GMT+02:00 Jo winfi...@gmail.com: OK, sorry for the tone. For example, when you click bridge, it shows the dialog, which is fine, and I don't really mind clicking on ok, but it would be really nice if the dialog defaulted to bridge=yes and layer=1 (the most common, IMO - four clicks to set, otherwise). Is that possible as a local configuration? I already said in last mail, that this works perfectly fine and even there is a presets there for these purposes: https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Presets/OneClick It already contains your example. Simply install and use it instead of the normal bridge preset. The normal dialogs with the selection boxes are somewhat more restricted. The default values for these are not applied always to not destroy previous tag-sets. Full defaults are usually only reachable when applied to empty ways/nodes. See https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/10499 and reopen/discuss if needed. This is extremely annoying. The buttons on my toolbar for those presets were really convenient, but pressing OK a hundreds of times a day is going to take away my willingness to keep contributing. There is no reason to get so worked up at this point. If we ignore regressions despite reports and don't fix them for the tested version, then you may unleash your anger... Re: [josm-dev] new confirmation dialog for presets
There is a conflict here. There are circumstances where a confirmation dialog is wanted by the preset author - this is when there are label and/or link that are required to be displayed. Maybe a solution is to auto-detect this situation - if there are only key elements, then the tags are set without confirmation, but if there are also label or link elements, then a confirmation is required. Maybe also in the item header, a confirm=yes/no/auto parameter might be useful. It's very simply: If the preset contains anything to display, then it is displayed. If not, then not. The regression fix in above bug simply is that labels and links erroneous have been detected as nothing. This is fixed now again as it was before. OK, sorry for the tone. Simply wanted to convey it was rather annoying and totally disrupted my workflow. I prepare data with tags that will be removed automatically upon upload, created a MAPCSS style which makes them clearly visible and a preset to take away those tags, as in a todo list. I'm adding thousands of bus stops, but I want to vet each and every one of them to make sure they are in the right place. Thanks for all the good work on JOSM.
