[jQuery] Re: Doing Ajax call to a page that requires authentication
Unfortunately my data isn't of type JSON, so I guess I'll go with the Proxy option. Anyway, thanks alot for the help :) On Nov 30, 2:49 am, Karl Rudd [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Oh and I because of the fact that a script tag is used the only arguments that can be passed in are GET type arguments in the actual URL. You can get around it by using a JSON (or JSONP) response. For cross-domain JSON calls a script tag is inserted and the content is read that way. Hi, If the authentification is form-based, then the login credentials is passed by GET or POST. So you just have to add it to your ajax request see the data option. $.ajax({ type: POST, url: some.php, data: name=Johnlocation=Boston, success: function(msg){ alert( Data Saved: + msg ); } }); If the authentification is based on .htaccess, you can use username/password option Pierre W.
