2016-10-24 Thread Michaël Michaud

Hi,

I fixed something in OpenJUMP and it should work with "Set Color tool" now.

If no objections, I will include ViewManager extension in OpenJUMP PLUS,
as proposed by Jukka.

Actually it does not work for me. The result was unpredictable when I had
some features colored with the Set color tool and these hand set colors
sometimes shows, sometimes when I change between saved views. But now I made a
new test by using only theme coloring.

1) Read a shapefile

2) Define theming (attribute ORG_ALUE, type Integer, theming: unique values)

3) Use the plugin, do "Add View From Selected Layers"

4) Re-use this saved view by pressing Apply

What happens:

1) The map that was colorful turns into single color. However, the legend
still shows the classification for this layer. The color that is used for
rendering the map does not seem to be any color that is defined for the classes.

2) When the map is in this state, if I change the color palette from the

rendering seems to use only one class.

3) If I now change first the basic styles from the rendering tab to any

The result is somewhat unpredictable if layer has color theming on, or if user

Re: [JPP-Devel] ViewManagerPlugIn 0.3.2

2016-10-11 Thread Rahkonen Jukka (MML)
Hi,

Actually it does not work for me. The result was unpredictable when I had some
features colored with the Set color tool and these hand set colors sometimes
shows, sometimes when I change between saved views. But now I made a new test
by using only theme coloring.

2) When the map is in this state, if I change the color palette from the
theming page the map stays single color. That color does change, though, but
rendering seems to use only one class.
3) If I now change first the basic styles from the rendering tab to any
different color and then go back to color theming page, then classification and
applying palettes works OK again.

For me it seems that the basic style that is saved with the view plugin somehow
overrides the classification.

I am on Windows, jre 64-bit server VM 1.8.0_ea (amd64)
The saved view config file attached.

Hi Jukka,

It works for me, but I realize you did not say it does not work but it is
unpredictable. You probably mean if you apply a set of styles defined for a
dataset, it will not looks nice for another dataset.

You are right. It is out of the scope of this extension to solve this.
My use case is rather : I have a large dataset with many layers, but I have
different tasks to do with it : digitizing with orthophotography, repairing
broken polygons, controling the road-network topology, printing a map... For
each task, I want to apply different styles and to be able to switch easily
from one task to another. Hope it makes sense.

Re: [JPP-Devel] ViewManagerPlugIn 0.3.2

2016-10-10 Thread Michaël Michaud
Hi,

It is supposed to work with TheminStyle. Maybe broken. I'll check and
keep you informed.

It is not supposed to work with individual colors (as colors are stored
in the feature attribute, not in a style, I think it does not fit well
the use case of this tool)

It is not implemented for decoration styles (yet).
