Re: [k-9-mail] Deletion Settings - Expunge
When using 1and1 or O2 as email provider I always had a full inbox because the thunderbird had deleted or move all mails I instructed it to delete or move. But I used Geary as 2nd mail program and my mails stayed accessible until Geary way informed Thet they were no more there. Which was bad since one day I deleted my Geary installation. Perhaps a similar thing happens with k9, depending on the settings - without it being k9's fault. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "K-9 Mail" group. If not, set up TLS and start your analysis over :-) (Seriously, not having TLS and being even a little bit concerned about security do not go together.) If so, can you articulate your precise security concern (traffic analysis)? Are you using a VPN? If not, would it help with the above security concerns? I agree that you have a point about servers treating some addresses as bad and locking accounts. That seems a bit much, but I can see the point in wanting a program to decline to try from those networks. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "K-9 Mail" group. [k-9-mail] Synching on unsecure networks
Hi. Is it feasible to add a feature to K9 so that it checks the security of the connection before synching email(s)? I only ask as there are times whilst out and about, that K9 will synchronise email accounts irrespective of the connection. The respective email providers will then question this, usually by denying access, and in the worst case, blocking access, requiring a new password to be set up(!). Therefore, as I may be on a temporary, or insecure network, K9 may synchronise messages, thereby negating any security. So I ask if K9 can at least display a message to acknowledge that it is about to synchronise over an insecure connection... (I hope this makes sense and that you appreciate the reason for asking..!) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "K-9 Mail" group.
