ಪಿಳಿಪಿಳಿ ನೋಡಿದನು

ಬಣ್ಣದ ಕೊಳಲನು ಊದುವ ಹುಡುಗ
ಎದುರಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿಹನು
ನನಗದು ಬೇಕು ಎನುತ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ
ಹಟವನು ಹಿಡಿದಿಹನು

ಕೈಯಲಿ ಕಾಸು ಇಲ್ಲ ಎನುತ
ತಾಯಿಯು ಗದರಿದಳು
ಅಳುತ ಅಳುತ ಸಂತೆಯ ಸುತ್ತಿ
ಮನೆಕಡೆ ಬಂದಿಹನು

ಮಗುವಿನ ಕಣ್ಣಲಿ ನೀರನು ನೋಡಿ
ಅಜ್ಜನು ಮರುಗಿದನು
ಬಿದಿರಿನ ಕೊಳವೆಗೆ ತೂತನು ಮಾಡಿ
ಕೊಳಲನು ಮಾಡಿಹನು

ಬಾಯಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟು ಊದು ಎನಲು
ಪುಟ್ಟನು ಕುಣಿದಿಹನು
ಗಾಳಿಯು ಹಾಕಿ ಸ್ವರವದು ಹೊಮ್ಮಲು
ಖುಷಿಯಲಿ ಹಿಗ್ಗಿದನು

ಸುಡು ಸುಡು ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯ ದಾಹ
ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷದಂತೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಕೂಡ ಪಕ್ಷಿ ಸಂಕುಲಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರುಣಿಸೋಣ. ಮನೆ
ಎದುರು, ಸುತ್ತ ಮುತ್ತ ಗಿಡಗಳ ಎಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮನೆಯ ಚಾವಣಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ, ತೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕ
ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪಾತ್ರೆ ( ತೆಂಗಿನ ಚಿಪ್ಪು, ಮುಚ್ಚಳ, ಮಡಿಕೆ ಚೂರು) ಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ದಿನವೂ ಶುದ್ಧ
ನೀರನ್ನು ಎರೆಯೋಣ. ಹನಿ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದ ಹಕ್ಕಿ ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿ ಹಾರುವುದನ್ನು
ನೋಡಿ ನಲಿಯೋಣ.
ಪಕ್ಷಿ ಸಂಕುಲದ ಉಳಿವು ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಆದ್ಯತೆಯಾಗಲಿ. ಕುಡಿಯಲು ನೀರಿದ್ದೂ ನಮಗೆ ದಾಹ
ತಡೆಯಲಾಗದು ಅಲ್ಲ ವೇ? ಅಂತಹುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಳ ಪಾಡು! ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಊಹಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ, ಈಗಿಂದಿಗಲೇ
ಕಾರ್ಯ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತರಾಗೋಣ‍♀
