[digikam] [Bug 356975] New: Nikon 5300 12bit RAW/NEF: wrong white/black level

2015-12-20 Thread Jonas Meurer via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356975

Bug ID: 356975
   Summary: Nikon 5300 12bit RAW/NEF: wrong white/black level
   Product: digikam
   Version: 4.12.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
   URL: http://jonas.freesources.org/digikam/DSC_0542.jpg
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Raw-Workflow
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: jo...@freesources.org

Hi,

apparently, digikam sets wrong white/black levels for 12bit RAW/NEF images from
Nikon D5300. Colors are not the same as in the jpg preview at all. Instead, a
dark, green version of the picture is shown. After some research, I found out
that rawtherapee has the same problem. See the following bugreports and forum
posts for more details:

https://code.google.com/p/rawtherapee/issues/detail?id=2569#c1
http://rawtherapee.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3=5406

The linked comment of issue #2569 provides a workaround for rawtherapee: Set
the RAW black points for all three color channels to '-450' and white-point
correction for RAW white points to '4.00'. Indeed, this works as expected in
rawtherapee.

Unfortunately I don't find corresponding settings in the digikam editor. If
they do exist, can you point me to them?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make a 12bit RAW/NEF picture with Nikon D5300 or fetch the example picture
from http://jonas.freesources.org/digikam/DSC_0542.NEF
2. Import this picture into digikam. The preview looks correct as the jpg
preview is used.
3. Open the picture in the editor. For me, it looks like the following:
http://jonas.freesources.org/digikam/DSC_0542.jpg

Actual Results:
The picture is displayed with wrong colors (wrong black points/white points
settings).

Expected Results:
Correct black points/white points should be set for Nikon D5300 12bit RAW/NEF
pictures.

[frameworks-knotifyconfig] [Bug 356977] New: Notifications pop up on random locations

2015-12-20 Thread sederic via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356977

Bug ID: 356977
   Summary: Notifications pop up on random locations
   Product: frameworks-knotifyconfig
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmudnson.co.uk
  Reporter: sebastian.end...@online.de
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org, mklape...@kde.org

Notifications pop up on random locations - sometimes on the left side and
sometimes on the right side.

- I don't know if I selected the correct Product, but I didn't find knotify on
this bugzilla.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Wait for a notification

Actual Results:
Sometimes it pop ups on the left side and sometimes on the right. I think even
the same notifications don't appear on one location...

Expected Results:
They should pop up on the same location every time. If I configured none
location, they should appear on the right side, otherwise they should appear on
the specified location.

recently I configured that they should pop up on the left location, but then I
deactivated this configuration, which worked until I updated plasma-desktop.

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: split view
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: summersons96-squarefor...@yahoo.ie

While Dolphin is open in split view mode, a normally simple act of dragging and
dropping from one pane to another causes Dolphin to close immediately and the
standard grey box with the general and Developer tabs to appear with "We are
sorry, Dolphin has closed unexpectedly".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open dolphin from menu or konsole
2.choose split view mode
3.choose a file to drag and drop after navigating to another folder or
partition in the second pane

Actual Results:
On dragging the file to the second pane the application - Dolphin - closes. The
action is not performed

Expected Results:
Dragging from one pane to another should result in the file or folder being
copied or moved

With frameworks 5.17.0, plasma 5.51, and kdenlive-5.12.0 (self-compiled) I'm

QXcbConnection: XCB error: 8 (BadMatch), sequence: 8480, resource id: 62914723,

errors when running kdenlive from konsole. They occur whenever the mouse cursor
is positioned at the edge of a docWidget ("Project Bin", "Effects", "Clip
Monitor", "Project Monitor", and probably others) when the vertical or
horizontal 'resize' icon appears. If the cursor is held fixed with the 'resize'
icon showing, the QXcbConnection: XCB error messages are generated continuously
without end until the cursor is moved away from the 'resize' area. No
right/left cursor clicks are involved, just cursor movements.

Localize it in the known oddity.
Is it the taskbar tooltip (disable it and check whether the trick still works)

Is it maybe actually the taskbar (remove it).

There's a patch with pending review, that should fix it soon (5.5.2).

[akregator] [Bug 356973] New: Text renders very wide on some feeds

2015-12-20 Thread Matthijs via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356973

Bug ID: 356973
   Summary: Text renders very wide on some feeds
   Product: akregator
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: internal browser
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: mtijink.b...@gmail.com

Since I upgraded akregator (from 4.14.10 to 15.12), some feeds display their
text very wide, using the internal browser.

The attached screenshot shows how it looks and how the same page looks in
firefox. This does not happen for all feeds/pages, but only for some (but it is
reproducible for those pages). Note that I use the webpage version for most
feeds.

Reproducible: Always

I should add that, should Kate gain a live Markdown preview, which I've heard
people ask for, then this wish could almost be thrown in the garbage, since I
think it would then be easy to let that live preview be powered by a Markdown
formatter that supports fenced code blocks.

The script that's executed (eval'd) and causes problems

The theory that this is caused by an environment variable so long that kdeinit
can't copy it is likely. The variable would be LS_COLORS, and if you use this
script before starting KDE, then the value of that variable is 7870 characters
long.

Attached is the BASH code that actually gets eval'd.

[calligrastage] [Bug 356971] New: default print-to-pdf filename doesn't work for unsaved documents

2015-12-20 Thread Jon Burgess via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356971

Bug ID: 356971
   Summary: default print-to-pdf filename doesn't work for unsaved
documents
   Product: calligrastage
   Version: 2.9.10
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: usability
  Assignee: t.zachm...@zagge.de
  Reporter: jburgess...@googlemail.com

Printing to PDF using the default filename for an unsaved document fails saying
the file is not writable.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open stage
2. Pick a template
3. File -> Print -> "Print to PDF" -> Print

Actual Results:
Default filename looks like: Stage unsaved document (20/12/2015).pdf

"File /home/jburgess/Stage unsaved document (20/12/2015).pdf is not writable.
Please choose a different file name."

Expected Results:
default filename should work

The problem is likely due to the "/" characters in the date which Linux
interprets as being a subdirectory. Switching to an ISO8601 data like
2015-12-15 should resolve it.

--- Comment #95 from Georg Grabler  ---
Interestingly, for me, extremely reproducable if I'm running Wine OpenGL
applications. There I've like 1mb/s mem leak. Running no wine OpenGL
application, it seems to be pretty stable.

But why would plasmashell freak out because of wine OpenGL applications?

Fact is, as soon as I start an OpenGL application in Wine (as WoW), plasmashell
it leask 920k/s. As soon as I close it, it stops leaking. Note that normal Wine
applications don't start the leak, as in example the Battle.net Launcher.

So that seems to be connected at least.

[kate] [Bug 356974] New: Support for syntax highlighted fenced code blocks in Markdown

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: syntax
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: elvst...@gmail.com

This may be a pipe dream, because I don't know if Kate's highlighting engine is
capable of switching highlighting rules in the middle of a file, but it would
be awesome if I could do

## Look some C++

```cpp
int main(int argc, char *argv[])
```

## And some Python

```python
def hello():
print("Hello there")
```

when editing a Markdown file in Kate. Similar to what you can do at e.g.
GitHub.

This would mean

  1) support for fenced code blocks,
  2) support for switching to appropriate syntax highlighting rule within such
blocks.

Anyway, if it's completely out of the question, I rest my case.

Thanks a lot for Kate!

I would try to update Libraw to version 0.17 that have bug fixes that might
help with your problem. I'm thinking of this in the changelog:

"Many improvements in data decoding/processing:
*Correct decoding of black level values from metadata for many formats,
LibRaw do not rely on hardcoded black levels. "

libkdcraw needs to be rebuilt against it for Digikam to use the updated libraw.

True, but openSUSE adds it in their packages, so this is not the reason for the
reported problem here.

As I wrote, I suspect that the OP ran KDE4's systemsettings (openSUSE 13.2
still uses KDE4 as default desktop), but installed the KF5 based kcron 15.04
from an additional repo.
This cannot work, even if you add the "system-administration" category
manually.

Btw, a fix for the category problem has been suggested in

it's screwing up /usr/binstartkde which is a shell script and plasmashell isn't
getting to be launched.

Given it works normally, it's almost certainly your shell setup that's "broken"
and not plasma.

Please add some "echo" lines and see where it's breaking.

Unfortunately I really don't have time to deal with every possible setup issue,
so I won't spend time helping trying to fix this. Let me know if you find the
cause and especially if you do "prove" that it's us doing something wrong.

It *could* also be an env var so long that kdeinit can't copy it?
Does this script affect your env vars at all?

[plasmashell] [Bug 356938] Worse performance with KDE than Gnome when playing CS GO

2015-12-20 Thread Thomas Lübking via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356938

--- Comment #18 from Thomas Lübking  ---
(In reply to AnAkkk from comment #17)
> From what I can see it's crashing because the "effects" pointer is NULL
> inside the SceneOpenGLShadow::~SceneOpenGLShadow destructor.

E. It somehow updates its shadow on creation (god knows why)
Can you try

diff --git a/shadow.cpp b/shadow.cpp
index 99f89bf..6963334 100644
--- a/shadow.cpp
+++ b/shadow.cpp
@@ -338,7 +338,7 @@ bool Shadow::updateShadow()
 m_topLevel->effectWindow()->sceneWindow()->updateShadow(0);
 m_topLevel->effectWindow()->buildQuads(true);
 }
-deleteLater();
+// deleteLater();
 };
 if (m_decorationShadow) {
 if (Client *c = qobject_cast(m_topLevel)) {

This will leak, but if it doesn't crash we know
a) the cause
b) effects isn't reliable on the destructor (so checking it is justified - i'd
prefer to not poke around and test "if (effects)" w/o actually knowing why it
can be nullptr here)

Thanks for the investigation.

Experiencing this as well for quite some time now. Went up to 2gb within 4
hours, 4gb within 8 hours. Pretty linear.

It's always happening, having a pretty fresh kubuntu 15.10 install (with
updates). I can reproduce it by being afk, so let me know if I can do anything
to get this backtraced.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

dolphin (4.14.13) on KDE Platform 4.14.13 using Qt 4.8.6

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I was moving some video files from a micro SD card to an external HD and
accidentally moved over the address path of the micro SD card which showed a
drop-down menu of available locations.
I ignored this and carried on with what I was doing, which was dropping the
files over to the HD and that's when Dolphin crashed.

[plasmashell] [Bug 356864] Plasma cannot adapt to VM host window

2015-12-20 Thread OlafLostViking via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356864

OlafLostViking  changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO  |---
 Status|NEEDSINFO   |UNCONFIRMED

--- Comment #2 from OlafLostViking  ---
Yes, it does. In the example down below I manually set the resolution in
kscreen to 1280x720) and resized the window - the new resolution seems to be
always the value appearing first in the list. In "virt-manager" the check box
"View->Scale Display->Auto resize VM with window" is active.

When I open the kscreen config now, 1024x768 is preselected in the dropdown and
the "strange" resolution of my VM window is not selectable/shown in the list.

Just to be very sure it's not a driver problem in my KDE VM, I just installed
the "plasma" package group in my dedicated (working) GNOME VM (so everything is
up-to-date [SDDM 0.13.0, Plasma 5.5.1, Frameworks 5.17.0 and Apps 15.12.0]
without any old KDE libs/config etc.) and tried logging into Plasma via GDM as
well as SDDM. The results are the same:

* GDM adapts, Plasma starts in the "correct" resolution set by GDM but doesn't
adapt anymore.
* When booting with SDDM as display manager, it's already starting in a wrong
resolution. A started GNOME session corrects the resolution and adapts, a
Plasma session stays "wrong" and won't adapt either.

Can reproduce this (sometimes) on fedora 23.

rpm -q plasma-workspace

plasma-workspace-5.5.0-4.fc23.x86_64

I saved my credentials in kwallet and they seem to be loaded, because my login
is displayed and I can see dots in password field. I also can login into wifi
with another stored passphrase, but I was asked to type in my passphrase for
wifi before and had to manually connect to wifi before it worked...

Looks like it's the KDE4 kcm (the compositor stuff is presently in /Compositor"

Can you run "kcmshell5 kwincompositing"?

[plasmashell] [Bug 356938] Worse performance with KDE than Gnome when playing CS GO

2015-12-20 Thread AnAkkk via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356938

--- Comment #9 from AnAkkk  ---
export __GL_YIELD="NOTHING" doesn't seem to change anything

Sending the STOP signal to plasmashell seem to work.

Running everything on the nvidia GPU isn't really a solution, I used to do this
but this kill the battery, and make the fans spin faster. Tried to "primusrun
plasmashell", and the bug is still present, it doesn't help.

I am seeing the same behaviour as in bug #356366, if I click on the CS GO
window to come back from the ALT-TAB, I get the bug, but if I over some other
icon on the task bar (like Dolphin) and use ALT-TAB to get back in-game, I
don't have the bug.

I went to kwin window rules, but I can't find any option to block compositing
for the window. Or maybe it's called differently here?

__GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 is set in the game launch script by default in
all Source games, because there is a "Multicore rendering" option in the game
settings which improve FPS and works with it. If I get rid of it, I would
surely have lower FPS as that option would no longer work.

This

indicates that kwin simply isn't running at all (but maybe NixOS configured
another default WM like openbox?)

Hugo, could you perhaps have a look at this? It affects Breeze and Oxygen as
well as Windows 95 style but not the Qt Fusion style. QtQuick Controls ComboBox
uses PE_PanelItemViewRow in its ComboBox popup, perhaps we don't style that
thing properly?

Relevant code:
qApp->style()->drawPrimitive(QStyle::PE_PanelItemViewRow, m_styleoption,
);
if ((style() == "mac" ||
!qApp->style()->styleHint(QStyle::SH_ItemView_ShowDecorationSelected)) &&
selected()) {
pal = QApplication::palette("QAbstractItemView");
pal.setCurrentColorGroup(m_styleoption->palette.currentColorGroup());
pixpainter.fillRect(m_styleoption->rect, pal.highlight());
}

[kwin] [Bug 356905] Desktop effects does not work, KDE5 Plasma5

2015-12-20 Thread Arthur Fayzrakhmanov via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356905

--- Comment #4 from Arthur Fayzrakhmanov  ---
It opened me a configuration window. I changed Xrender to OpenGL, antialiasing
method and set window preview for minimized windows, then applied changes.
Now, window preview indeed works for minimized windows, but I still have no
luck with desktop effects.

By the way, I'm finding customization in KDE 5 quite odd, e.g. to configure
locales I have to open settings window right clicking on locale indicator and
selecting "Settings" from context menu rather than doing this in "System
Settings"; same for date and time settings and I still can't switch my clock
appearance to 12-hours format. I suppose this will change in near future,
won't it?

As for the kwin side, set up a rule to block compositing for the window.
See bug #348156 for further discussions on this (aside similar context sharing
issues, kwin also caps MaxFPS and sync'd swaps)

  Priority: NOR
 Component: Playlist
  Assignee: amarok-bugs-d...@kde.org
  Reporter: jaroslav.tu...@gmail.com

When a multi-disc album is added to a playlist, separate albums with the same
name appear, each containing tracks from one disc. With a track progression
setting on "Random albums", all the discs in the album are played as a unit.

Can you please change this to randomize on (album, disc number) pairs instead?

Alternatively, if the current behavior is actually intentional, can you
introduce a new track progression mode "Random discs"?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Play a playlist with at least one multi-disc album in "Random albums" mode

Actual Results:
All discs within albums are played sequentially

Expected Results:
Discs within albums are played randomly

2. Navigate to KMix > Settings > Audio Setup > Audio Hardware Setup

I too have a very similar problem since the upgrade to 15.12 and Plasma 5.5 on
Archlinux.
Both sftp:// and webdavs:// triplicate the last subfolder 3 times, i.e. instead
of "webdav/a/b/c/d" it shows "c/d/d/d".

I have solved this by changing
`X-KDE-System-Settings-Parent-Category=system-administration` to
`X-KDE-System-Settings-Parent-Category=session` "in
/usr/share/kservices5/kcm_cron.desktop". Now kcron shows up under Session
category.

[kdenlive] [Bug 356963] New: "Check if first added clip matches project profile" no longer activates

2015-12-20 Thread Kubuntiac via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356963

Bug ID: 356963
   Summary: "Check if first added clip matches project profile" no
longer activates
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: user...@xymail.info

Using the latest package from vpinon's PPA, I noticed that when I import a clip
into a new Kdenlive project, it no longer seems to check and pop up a message
allowing me to match the project settings to the clip.

I have the "Check if first added clip matches project profile" setting turned
on, but it doesn't seem to make any difference any more.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new Kdenlive project
2. Import a clip that has different resolution / framerate than the project
settings
3. Drag clip to timeline

Actual Results:
Clip appears on timeline. No warning about it having different settings.

Expected Results:
Clip appears on timeline. The old popup warning you that the clips settings are
different to the projects settings appears. The project settings that most
closely match the clips are suggested.
